Yes another! Had a v early start too but ok as my OH was working in Amsterdam today so had to get a taxi at 4.30am, and kindly tipped me out of bed at 4.15. Good run there then plaited up on site.

Did dressage in my dr saddle in the end as too muc of a snob to do it in new wonder (ie fits him!) jumping saddle. Still went nicely though trot work is nothing like it is on a surface. Got 35.7 which I thought was excellent marking, basicly 7s for walk and canter and 6s for trot.

Clear sj, nothing remarkable to report on the round really. Off on endurance ride to get to xc. Set off determined to go like a bat out of hell as twisty wooded course so knew what felt fast would actually be a collected canter! Reminders needed at 3 (an open ditch, quite impressive) and 5 (owl hole) but after that just jumped for fun and feels ready for the step up to Novice now. Came in almost 15 seconds under and went into the lead. The perils of going early in a 41-strong section....

This was the final PAVO qualifier I could get to this year, and they all went past me in a glut at the end. Finished 14th, less than 5 pens behind 2nd, so haven't qualified and really annoyed after he put in a performance I was really proud of. Oh well.....

Will trundle off to put photos in gallery now.

Well done you

that very close between you and 2nd a real shame
Off to look at photos

Well done thats a fantastic result but it is a bummer that this ended up being a dressage competition rather than a true one day event. Just seen the results and there were so many double clears. It really sounds like that William would have qualified if there had been trickier jumping courses today!!

TBH I thought it was a fair test for a PN, the questions came thick and fast and was a nice change from the table-palisade-roll-top repeat as necessary courses that some places think constitute an educational course.... but the standard's so bloody high in these things, and the pros know they have to go fast on courses like that to get in the time. There were some very nice creatures there I must say....

awww bad luck though a good performance none the less. He is coming on well is the William lad shame he won't get to the finals again but there are great things ahead for the lad just give him some time!

Oww and if piccies are OH his education seems to be progressing very well! And yes i will get off my a*se and finish your webby promise *whistles innocently*

The standard in the PAVO sections is so high!

That was a fantastic score but the pros are going all-out to qualify (so they can sell their horses for a small fortune) - unlucky this time but you must be really proud of him.
