What would people think of this mix? Know someone who has got coloured babies of this breeding that she needs good homes for... was wandering on peoples opinions?! Dad is either Arab with TB mare with small amount of ID, or ArabxTBxID with a Tb mare or ID mare......

I think it is an interesting mix. The TBxID is a popular mix anyway - but I think the arab input would add a bit of toughness - having worked with a lot of part breds and pure breds in my time they were so good at staying sound!

My friend has a lovely horse that is out of an Anglo Arab mare by an ID stallion. He's nice and big, quite chunky but has loads of quality. He has done eventing, show jumping and elementary dressage. Really nice horse, but she never lets on he's part arab lol!!

Some of the part breds we had were beautiful looking horses - did very well in the show ring but could certanly jump. Arabs are tough and have huge stamina - I think they are underated as an 'ingredient' tbh.

Yep the breeder says they are very tough and athletic little horses, but she is gutted as has lost grazing so all need to be sold

Going for good prices so am very tempted, from the same person I brought G from....

Where does the coloured come from? Maybe I'm wrong but I didn't think ID, TB or Arabs could be coloured??

The ArabxIDxTB stallion is coloured, from his dams side, and the offspring have kept there colour when put to a TB and an ID.

The others are out of his dam, by a different stallion. The Dam is by Nearly a Nose (TB) out of a ISH mare, who is half TB and half unknown, presumably where the colour comes from. My friend has a Colt out of the mare by a TB stallion, the colt is coloured, but according to wetherbys is full enough TB to race, so the "something else" is negligible!

Quite a rare combination....

I have an Irish Sports horse (IDxTB) who is going to play with an Arab stallion this summer, so all being well, we will have exactly that mix

I have found some lovely pictures on the internet which I'll post later (gotta go out now).

The bay is interesting I think ... arab head, TB colouring, Irish Draft feet. I think if my girl produces a foal it will look like that.

There is a TB x ID mare just scanned in foal to my Arab stallion - so I hope this is a good mix! The mare is 3/4 TB, 1/4 ID. Her last foal was by Mars!

The TB/ID cross is of course tried and tested, but I think the Arab should add something special.

(Of course it all depends on the quality of the individual horses and their pedigrees.)

Can you tell me any more about the Arab element of your friend's breeding programme - which Arab bloodlines she's using?

She is using Crabbat (sp) bloodlines in her pure bred stallion, to ISH mares or TB mares. Her other stallion is sired by her purebred, crossed with her ISH mare (3/4 TB) and then bred with either full ID or IDxTB mares... havent seen the result of her partbreds progeny though..although sure they will be superb as a majority have been. She is selling Broodmares of irish breeding to proven breeders, they are in foal to her arab.
