I know there's no right or wrong here but just trying to decide about ongoing use of ARC so thought I'd ask experiences.
My horse is recovering from PSD nad kissing spines, and he's had platelets, shockwave, ultrasound, and a six week full cycle of ARC - we're now doing the once/twice weekly thing. I'd borrowed it off a friend, but she needs it back, so I need to decide whether to buy one for ongoing use.
I'm really sceptical of them for many reasons, esp whether once a week use actually does anything! But absence of evidence doesn't equal evidence of absence and all that.... I don't know.

For people who have used the ARC for long term conditions like PSD, do you feel it makes any diff to your horses once you've done the initial six week cycle and gone on to once weekly, and then doing the annual full six week cycle they recommend? Any thoughts appreciated while I dither! thank you

Unfortunately it didn't help my boy with PSD at all, he had to be PTS. But I would still buy one and use it as I would use anything that I thought could help. Sorry not very helpful but I'm the type to throw everything at it. I did read they had a sale on and were virtually half price.

Thanks Fern, so sorry about your horse :-(. That's really sad. I am dreading that day and know his issues will likely make it happen sooner than otherwise :-(.

I agree though, this is the issue - I will try anything but equally there are millions of options and I can't afford them all. We've been lucky to have some improvement already (it wasn't TOO severe) so just not sure what to do going forward. I ahve no idea of course whether it's the intensive physio, rehab work, platelets, ARC, shockwave etc that's helped....

The fact that they've halved the price kind of makes me even more sceptical of whether it works though... argh

Nightmare isn't it. It may help but there are hundreds of horses that come right without using one. I dont think you can beat correct rehab work. There are occasionally ones for sale second hand. Perhaps you could justify the cost that way. Really feel for you. Hope he keeps on improving x
