Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and hate to ask for help in my first post but thought someone may be able to come up with an idea to solve this.
I've just started using an Arc unit, lent to me by a pal who only used the leg bits, and have worked out most of the techy stuff but struggle cleaning off the back gel. It really sets like glue and the horse is a bit sensitive to me removing the back pad but worse than that is that I can't find anything to get the left over gel off the horse's coat.
The horse is clipped apart from the saddle area and I've tried using warm water on a cloth, have to scrub too hard and don't want to irritate an already narky horse. I tried baby wipes, and dilute fairy liquid, and then tackled it with a Magic brush. I can't work the horse when the hard gel is there as it would really rub, and its not just a case of cleaning it off sooner as if the horse wears the back rug for the required amount of time the gel sets hard.
I'm seriously thinking about using a different type of gel, one without the adhesive qualities of the back gel provided with the kit.
So if you use the back gel how do you get the damn stuff off afterwards? May be I'm must using too much?
Big thank you.
Oh, it may be interesting to some of you that the horse has stopped cribbing since we've used the Arc, in the stable at least but I haven't followed round the field at night with a torch yet
