The less said about Burrows Court the better i think!

Basically the warmup was overcrowded (there was 9 people in there when i first got in and its only 50 x 20) - Archie got really tense and stressed out as idiots kept cantering into us. Then one particular idiot (who kept crashing into me) cantered right at us and he freaked out, kicked the fence, the fence came away and got stuck inbetween his leg

He charged off round the arena, luckily the fence got untangled and i stopped him and got off to check his legs. He'd just skinned himself on his off hind but was sound as i trotted him up. it wasnt bleeding either which was lucky as it couldve been really nasty
frown.gif

Needless to say after that all the idiots stayed away from us and i managed to get him to relax and he warmed up really nicely. He did what i thought was a lovely test, however the judge obviously wasnt wearing her glasses as i got 60%

She said to me after id finished my test 'shame he was naughty' - he wasnt naughty in the test tho

I think she saw him in the warmup and decided that was that.....unfortunately i had her for my elementary aswell, so are mark was even worse, even tho he felt fab and looked really good on the video we took

Sunday morning came and Archie's leg was huge, trotted him up and he was sound, so cold hosed him and stuck him out in the field. By the time i caught him in he was still sound and it was all back to normal. Arrived at Lottie's at 2:30 and helped her sort the jumps out. She realy is lovely, and has a realy nice setup aswell. Shes really down to earth and obviuosly works really hard for what shes got even tho her mother probably has a far amount of money.

Warmed Archie up under saddle and he was great, not even stiff after the 2hrs in the lorry which was good! Then took his tack off - at this point he looked a little confused as to why id un-tacked him
grin.gif
Started off with a little cross pole (id already ridden him over some trotting poles) and he loved it. Put it up to a straight and he sailed over it (around 1m) Then put up a 1.10m oxer which he flew over!! Finished off by putting the jump down and adding some fillers which he had a little look at but was tired by this point so didnt make too much fuss!!

All in all had a fab time, Lottie loved Archie and said how careeful he was (he didnt touch a single pole). Taking him back again at the end of October

Heres a little vid, this is just the small upright, mum forgot to press 'record' for the bigger oxer

Archie Loose Jumping

Thank you to OrangeEmpire who put me in touch with Lottie (i hope your hangover wasnt as bad as Lottie's on sunday

)

Bless him... he really looked like he was enjoying the jumping, do you ever jump him under saddle, or do you stick with dressage/flatwork? just curious, thats all....

Bad luck at BC, and damn those inconsiderate riders, but I had to giggle at the warm up being crowded with 9 in it - try BSJA
tongue.gif

Archie looks as tho he has done the loose jumping thing before - very sweet!

Do think you have to get over this money thing tho P_G as you are starting to come across as ever so bitter
crazy.gif
Just didn't think that comment was necessary...

huh, what on earth do you mean? im not at all bitter - i said she works really hard and deserves everthing shes got.

I find your comment really rude and VERY hurtful

Poor Archie, that could have been so nasty. Warming up is so stressful, its worse than the actual test. Im thinking about trying out a red ribbon as some people just come far too close.
What a shame the judge didnt like him, she obviously has bad taste
wink.gif

Shame about the dressage I'm sure most riders have no idea of the correct rules and it always seems to be one for all! Glad he is not too bad anyway.

He looked very happy loose jumping and seems to have a nice technique. Some BSJA now perhaps?

Sorry about burrows

Hes not confident jumping and im not confident either, so im using the loose jumping to let him sort it out for himself, rather than me riding him like an idiot!! Its also good for him to let off steam aswell and something really different for him to do.

I do pole work at home, and raised trotting poles. I just dont get time to put jumps up.

no BSJA for me - dressage is much safer!!!!
grin.gif

I will have some normal jumping lessons with Lottie to tho. I cant jump at my yard over the winter as i would have to do it under floodlites, so im just going to loose jump him at hers once a month until the nights are lighter again. Then i can start jumping him properly.

he is looking great, I will get the BE dates out for next year and we will get you sorted for your first intro!

hame about the drressage but at least he went well considering the warmup situation!

Argh bloody warm-up: I was literally ridden out of the arena at the weekend (well two of pony’s legs were anyway!) in a 60 x 20 when there were only the two of us in there – I later found out she was a group 3 rider!
shocked.gif
Pleased Archie’s ok and that he behaved himself even if the judge missed it!

He looks good in the vid! The little doggy looked as though he was being very helpful!
grin.gif

Maybe you should let him have the winter off from BD and BSJA him instead - what a jump!!!!

Shame about Burrows but you'll look back and laugh
smirk.gif
He still looks beautiful as ever!

Gosh Weezy what a rather harsh reply
smirk.gif
I had to read it twice to realise what you were going on about as I have never thought of P_G being bitter about money
confused.gif

WOW he looks great in that Vid, def BSJA and BE potential!

Shame about the dressage, I dont do alot of dressage their as the warm up is so small, you should try Leyland court? their warm up is a bit bigger (u have prob already been there tho!)

*whispers*...any chance of putting it on Youtube for those of us that can't watch PB...probably just me and PF

Shame about the dressage, warm up sounded horrid. I hate having more than three in a 20 x 40m so can't imagine what that was like.
