Grrr have phoned up about a lot of horses today from adverts or from replies from my wanted ad. Why when you phone up are the horses completely different from their description or adverts???!!! I've only made one viewing booking out of 6 phone calls..

Typical that yesterdays perfect horse may not be on the market anymore! Ah well at least after trying him I know exactly what I want now. Why is horse hunting for a nice safe hack/low level RC horse so difficult? I don't even have an age limit

It's much better to find out it's a fairy tale on the phone than when you have driven an hour or two . . . (that's meant to make you feel better by the way!)

I agree! I phoned up about one who was 'good to hack alone' only to find he'd only hacked alone once but was ok ish only had a few hissy fits!!!

i went to look at one who was described as brill in all ways/easy going safe etc....... to find out he was those things... if ridden hard 7 days a week, otherwise he'd 'get you off'! erm no thanks!!!

i found mine recently after about 4 months of searching so you could be in for a long haul!!

The buyers are just as bad, I had a fella phone up about my mare, then tell me he didn't want a thoroughbred. It clearly states in the advert, chesnut thoroughbred mare...

I advertised a horse as being for dressage only because he didn't like jumping. After exchanging emails with photos for nearly a week she asked if he would do BSJA Discovery.

I advertised another as "will not hack" and was told by one caller she wanted to hack out on a regular basis.

My personal bugbear with sellers is that they have no idea how big their horse actually is. Many horses advertised as 16.1 turn out to be no more than 15.3

I find the Internet sites much more realistic than printed adverts, and much less chance of the horse already being sold when you get there if they are listed rather than being sold over one weekend from a printed advert.

15.2 1/2 is a disaster if you thought you'd bought a County Standard show cob

The ones over 17 hands are sometimes advertised as smaller than they are too - all depends on what's worth most !!
