are all your horses behaving like idiots now the snow and ice has gone?

Definitely fresh when out ridden today and of course everything was out to eat her! She felt good thought and think was glad to get out and about again!

Ours have been out all the time so not going nuts through being turned out. They were having a right bomb round the field last night though just because they could as the snow and ice has gone.

I moved mine to another paddock today and the young one was bouncing beside me as well as a sharp word when she went ot go on her hind legs - a first. I ended up unclipping their lead ropes and just letting them hoon around for 5 minutes before trying to approach them to take the head collars off as they have totally forgotten their manners. :P

When I went back up to give them fresh water, the young 'un was busy standing twitching and snorting at the scary water.

Please also bear in mind, they have been turned out 24/7. LOL.

Yes! YO says even the most well behaved are being a bit mental! Hugo came in from the field for the first time in 2 weeks (he only arrived 3 days before that!) and was quite unsettled (unsurprisingly!). He was bargy and rude, not like he usually is, I think. But YO says the ones who were stuck in the field have gone a bit 'herdy' and will take a few days to get back to normal. Also, Hugo has fallen in love! ;) So he wanted to get back to his new true love (Dolly) who was calling to him.

I think it will be ok in the end - just a bit of settling back in.

Mines been out every day and was still an idiot yesterday, managed to fall over on the lunge - cue me shaking like a leaf and feeling terrible. Although I think he had got revved up as the shoot were nearby in the morning. Rode him again today and he was much more like his usual self - phew!

NOPE!!! Yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy! :D
So proud of my girl I was going to make a pointless post just to be smug! :P hehehehe

But then she is a Cleveland Bay! ;)
Absolute star - was out 24/7 - then suddenly in 24/7 for 2 weeks!!!

Ridden in a slightly soggy school today - and was great, no rushing, no bucking, no head in the air - nothing!!!

Cue me landing on my bahind tomorrow! :P

lol weird isnt it - my boy is beign totally mental and hes nto been cooped up too much - in all this bad weather he is turned out at 8am and brought in at 4pm, when he is stood at gate wanting to be brought in - not exactly box rest but still going barmy!

lol well you have one good girl there!!!:D

no different but he is living out which I think takes the edge off them. rode for the first time in 2 2/1 weeks today and again he was his usual calm self.

Everyone's had their usual amount of turnout (3 live out), and usual amounts of feed, so they're behaving as normal. The ponies had a hooley when it started to melt, but that's it really. I rode Rosie tonight bareback in the foggy dark field in a headcollar and she was fine, OH rode his pony and she was fine, and the spookier two went out in hand and were fine - I'll ride them tomorrow.

Mine's being going out every day and I've been riding round the farm so not fresh but was very happy to be out on the bridlepaths today. A little spooky but not in a bad way, just happy to have new things to look at.

There are about 5 yards that back onto the same bridlepath network and there were loads of people out today all with big smiles on their faces, which of course meant lots of opportunity for Frankie to arch neck, prick ears and see if anyone admires him.

yep yep yep. They can feel the ground under their hooves and it sure shows! Proper going mental in the field today and yet they've been going out all week...

arr lot were ridden through the snow and ice as we have an indoor school but the went nuts for the first month it got cold. they dont need a break for the cold to make them fresh
