I sold my old little very decent 3.5 box earlier in the year as the ramp was just too steep for my oldie and he was starting to struggle.

Im looking for a Renault master or similar, low side ramp, rear travelling. I've been religiously checking eBay, preloved, gum tree, horsemart and thehorseexchange and keep seeing the same old boxes advertised for moths on end, but nothing decent at a decent price.

I have a budget, which I realise i probably need to increase to get anything decent, but thought I would be able to find something older maybe but sound for the money I have!

I just don't know where else to look!? I don't know whether people just arent selling at the moment?

Maybe I have unrealistic expectations, but I don't think so, but I'm really struggling :( it seems to me like there are loads of top end £15,000 + new builds put there and lots of dross for under £5000 but nothing decent in the middle? Where are they all???

Why not put up a wanted ad. I think people are not advertising as the market is not that great for selling. Also if you wait a while things normally pick up in September when kids go back to school and everyone is back from their summer hols. If you can wait until winter then even better as even though there is not so much around prices tend to be a lot lower.

think its the typical thing- you can never find what your looking for, then once you've bought loads come on the market!

think market is slow, a friend is looking, wants 3 horse, not high miles, tilt cab, has good budget £25K and still struggling.

were hoping come sept and the end of the "summer" showing season people may start to sell up

Don't know what part of the country you are in, I'm in Staffordshire and there is a Renalt master new conversion for sale on preloved, I think it's 2001 plate ( but has a private plate) it has an MOT and is £5,500 ovno.

Ooh I'll have a look now black_horse_white, thanks!

Originally I was going to wait until the end of the year - but then I signed up to do camp in September so could do with one soon ish!!

I've seen the one in staffs- it's on eBay and just sold - someone has been going the conversion themselves and are selling it half done, I dismissed it because it looked like the bulkhead was just ply- board.

i think u need to be willing to travel tbh, the side loaders always go for more.

check places like free ads, dragon driving etc

'Travel Two Horseboxes' sources mid priced boxes for people. Semi-retired husband and wife couple who look for safe ones nationwide.

I think it's Polly? She's quite a character and all are serviced and variety of prices, between £5,000 and £15,000 I think. You can see some of the past sales on their website.

Good luck, I trawled for ages and ended up getting an Anglian Windows style Renault Master van (with lots of windows)
