Are anyone elses fields like lakes??

I went up this morning to put the boys out an i was horrified. There is like a foot of water sitting in the main gate way and loads of puddles in our field that are just sitting on the top.

Oh and i nearly slipped on my ar$e walking the two of them up.

Not as bad as yours - but very wet and slippery. And of course the man came to cut the hedges yesterday, so the horses all decided to gallop around a bit just to churn it up a bit more.

Yes, we have 2 lakes in my field! No turnout, cannot trash my field

Yes, went to yard last night having not been there since Saturday and all of a sudden (it seems to me!) there is ankle deep puddles and mud everywhere!

Lakes & rivers! I had to buy a pair of waders FGS! Mind you I am sure it is a look that will catch on....

Nope no muddy patches in our fields.. we have sandy soil...

yes we have very deep muddy gateways. We have three fields so still have grass but only one field is dry enough for five mad horses galloping about. I'm just going to have a look on Ebay at matting for gateways.

Yes one small lake for ever field and the gate ways are about a foot deep in Mud. Ok in the winter feilds which are on high ground and better drained.

I second the new life form finding.
I left a beautiful clean baby roan gelding with lovely clean white socks yesterday morning. When I came back last night he'd gone and this hideous, gloopy mud monster of undescribable breeding or sex was there in his place.....

Ours were wet on top yesterday moring but apart from a bare patch where they mooch at coming in time the rest has all drained - legs were splashed yesterday but nothing worse than that.

We are on fenland sily soil so drains very quickly

So that's what those things moving in the mud in my field were.....ah! Thanks for the tip.....I did wonder where my horses were...but I realise they are now the Creatures from the Black Lagoon (apart from my grey who is always sparkly clean).
