I know of a recent born foalie ( welsh B ) who is really pretty and a complete dude. His sire is stunning and he and his dam are both well bred. Both have fabulous temperaments. Foalie is cream with a white blaze and white socks.

He would however be a seller on for me once he's older and I wondered what market there would be. I don't see many his colour and am not sure if its cos they're not popular.

Thanks

Is he a cremello with blue eyes? I have a soft spot for cremellos, so it wouldn't put me off, but as they have pink skin you do have to be careful in the sun as they burn more easily, and not everyone likes their pale blue eyes.

You don't see many because it's not a common colour, but if I remember my genetics, a cream homozygous stallion will produce palominos if bred to chestnut mares, which some would see as a bonus. But I may be wrong!

Are cremellos the ones with pink eyes, if so he's not cremello. I would say he's just cream but whether thats called light pally I don't know. His Dad is certainly lovely but a tad darker.

Phwoar! Yes, I would definitely buy a palomino. I wouldn't buy a cremello though, the blue eyes give me the shivers.

theyre very saleable, most kids love a golden horse. the only reason there are less is that there are few of the cream homozgous stallions needed to reliably breed them, and even then youve got to use a chestnut mare to be sure. So it certainly wouldnt put me off.

Definatley sellable! I love palominos, but not so keen on the cremellos - but there is alot of people who are! Especially at Sec B height, the pally will look like a pony from childerns books and they will go mad for it! A friend of mine had one at PC when we were about 8, it was a very pale one and just needed a horn on its head to be a unicorn! She was the envy of every other 8 year old girl in the county!!

I love both Creams and Pally's.

My first pony was a cream and my second a Palomino.

None of my friends like Creams, they say it's the eyes but I love them. I think they are like Marmite you either love them or hate them!

My first palomino and he was gorgous, very striking. My daughter's first pony is Steel Grey and again striking. Very sellable I would think.

I would say they are since I bought one :D At least I thought I did (that's what I was told) until I had her genetics tested, turns out she is Perlino! She is now in foal to my stallion and will produce Buckskin, Palamino or Smokey Black.

When Section A's go throught the ring at York the Palamino/creams always sell for more than twice the price of more 'ordinary' colours I know of several breeders that are concentrating on this colouring for future youngstock. I am more than sure that this will be the same with B's.
