are horses just not selling?!

i dont think they are... times are hard for a lot of people and unfortunately for those selling it really is a buyers market....

people are cheeky at the best of times but buyers now (like me) will really try their luck!

My mare's on selling livery and adverts went up last weekend, we haven't had any viewings yet. So frustrating as she's a cracking talented mare. There was a post only a month or so again about "where are the smaller competition horses". Well I've got one!!! Please someone buy her!!!!!

I think people need to realise that horses are not selling and be more realistic with their prices.

I recently bought from a well known dealer who had to drop most of his stock to almost half price because the market is so bad. He lost a lot of money and eventually went under. It goes to show that even the pro's are struggling!

Well Galaxy - that's what we want; a talented smaller competition horse....Give me the link to the ad!

I have been looking for a genuine all rounder approx 16 hands budget 3-4k. Taken me 4 months of serioius looking both privately, mostly over priced and not as described, and dealers. We are in south east and I have found 2 really good genuine dealers selling at realistic prices and at both yards they fly out the door, missed 2 i really liked as sold before i could try/make offer. So i think if realistically priced, down here in above bracket and as described they will sell

People cant afford the luxury of horses at the moment as many jobs are under threat. Its not just the cost of buying a horse its the cost of keeping it.

i don't think they are selling as well as they were even a few months ago...

friends have thier horses up for sale (a 14hh PC/RC/Hunting pony who's ace and a 15.3hh sports horse/event mare who isn't straight forwards but is talented) and niether have had much interest at all. I don't think they are over-priced and if I was in the market for one or the other then they'd be worth going to see IMO. the friends selling the pony spent £50 on advertising in magazines and had one phonecall from someone who used to own him, but nothing else!
