Please can anyone who has experience of this tell me what is the horse sale market like atm?
I realise this is not the best time of year and wonder if i am wasting my advert money and better to wait till next year?
Horse in question is 4, just backed.
Thanks

I've got one of these.

Really nice Sec D but have had some real timewasters.

I want to sell him not offload him so am bringing him home for the winter and will try to find the right home next spring.

I think things are selling but at the right price . A lot of people I had wanted a 'project' to turn around and thats not what I want for him.

I am lucky though in that I am not desperate to make a sale and will hold on for the right person.

I have just sold one (who was a project for me) for the amount I wanted for her.

The market is tough, but as always you only need 1 person to be interested.

I think if you have a good looking horse with no problems/quirks etc. then it should sell. Good low level allrounders always sell.

Also I think being a genuine and honest person really helps. If you clearly like/love what you are selling that comes across to the buyer.

The lady who has bought her seems caring and lovely, and the horse is going to a lovely yard, and I don't think there will be any expense spared buying her whatever she needs for her :D so I am really pleased for them both

You could always try with the proviso in your mind that if you don't get what he is worth you will keep him in the winter and sell in Spring, adding on of course the costs you would see over winter. There are a lot of really nice horses out atm with reduced pricing - so I always look for an eventer that has done it upto say Novice and would be good for an amateur. I could prob pick one up an £10K horse for nearer 8k atm.
