Are Micklem bridles dressage legal..

Yes they are, and I think it depends on the horse. Some love them, some not so much. I keep meaning to borrow one to try on my boy, but will have to wait until he's off box rest now!

Yes they are :)

There are things I like about them and things I don't!

The leather isn't the best quality and I also think you need a horse with an attractive head to carry them off :) Also there are some horses they just don't fit, so borrow one to try first.

I like that that there is minimal leather against the horses head and that there is no throatlash. Also they are great if you struggle to get a traditional drop noseband to fit just quite right - like I do.

I've heard about the leather being bad quality but I've had mine for about 5 years now, often used on two horses so been well and truly used and it's still as good as new.

I had mine since they where first launched .
Apart from Fatty pulling out the nose ring during a serious strop on the lunge it's still going strong and in daily use as an exercise bridle .
I would always try one on a horse to see what the horse thinks they are a good choice instead of a flash .
I had the competition one as well I sold it to a friend and within weeks regretted it .
I will get another soon .

I think you would need the competition bridle rather than the multi, but yes they are.

I would borrow one to try if you can, or do as I did and pick one up second hand - they really hold their value so wasn't worried about re selling if needs be.

I have two horses, arguably equally as sensitive in different ways, one loves it the other absolutely hated it to the point I had to get off and change bridles half way through schooling him as he was having a total crisis over it.

I bought the competition one a couple of months ago and it’s lovely leather, I think they have improved from when they first came out. I honestly don’t think it makes any difference in my horse’s way of going, but, I do really like the cut and fit of it.
