My friend has sold two newly backed 14.2hh's, very well behaved hacking alone and in company.
She also has three safe but forward going pc/jumping ponies for sale that she's had very little interest beyond the odd phone call for despite them being well mannered and good to hack etc...
All of them have been appropriately priced and yet what I would have assumed would be the harder to sell have been sold almost as soon as they were advertised.
My new horse came very cheaply via a local dealer, he's super safe and does a bit of everything. I could have sold him ten times over and would expect to pay treble what I did for him come the spring.
