Are ponies selling?? and help with pricing

Hi,
I am not new to the forum and am NOT advertising. I have just used another account for posting.:eek:

Am looking to sell reg Welsh Sec B, and really do not have a clue on price as have not sold horses for a while.

He is rising 4 years old and grand sire is Rotherwood State Occasion, however he is not a traditional sec b, he is a lot like a British Show Pony. Full up 13.3 hh. Carries me easily, 9 stone and 5.3:eek:
Great to do anything with, done trick training and rides in open fields, lovely mover and sensible in every way. Rides in open fields and is excellently schooled for age, including rein back and lateral work. Taught to bow and lie down prior to me moving on to schooling. Has a future in show ring. Push button ride, however has done no hacking out.
Easy ride, non spooky and push button, jolly happy boy, never put ears back. Easy keeper and lives in or out. Loads easily and started some little jumping-with huge scope.....:p

What do you suggest have done link to photo hosting, there is a couple of vids and lots of pictures.
He is young but NOT green, very well educated.

Your suggestions are welcomed and I will not be insulted just honesty and do not want to over price in todays climate.:rolleyes:

This is hard and I am by no means an expert, but for me, he has not hacked out, and has no competition record, and his schooling is basic. He does look a nice pony but I'm not sure he would be worth a great deal at the moment.

I am sure his value would increase if you got him hackingout and went to a few shows - if he is safe and sane still then he will make someone a lovely childs pony.

Although he is of show quality, he has more skills than this and is very well trained. A show home is not the only market I was aiming him at. He has been shown in hand and placed, however he would be eligible for ridden shows next year as is not four for a few months.:)
Am just looking for a suitable price rather than advertise for months with little interest:)
 
Thankyou for responding all, he is indeed a lovely person, and safe, safe, safe due to him being so affectionate. To be honest I was thinking around 1500 and he has done little apart from schooling and field riding due to me not finishing work til 7.30pm and relying on arena lights:D
However we ride in the dark, the rain and the wind:eek:
 
£1500 is a fair price - you say he has been shown that could up the price as well, TBH if he is safe and a mothers dream then you could put a heavier price tag. Safe bombproof ponies who can turn their hoof to a variety of sorts are rare on the open market.

Perhaps work with him over winter - hacking out and bringing on his schooling and look to sell in spring for a half decent price tag of £4k (if he is bombproof and sane!)
 
Yes, Dancing Queen I understand what you are saying. Next year I think he would get a decent price tag. He is bombproof and million percent sane.
Just looking for a fair price and truly the right home is of most importance and I know a lot say this but I will only let him go to an appreciative and experienced home. He has a lot to give and loves to do it:)
 
Just to say if you are selling him as a potential showing pony that the welsh sec Bs are limited to 13.2 or 137 cm and so if you are going to advertise him I would say he is 13.2, I also think the £1500 price is about right.
 
He will measure down, however could be a versatile show pony 14hh and under. Dont want to restrict market. Thanks all for taking your time to answer me it is really very much appreciated(really):)

Is there any way you could get him hacking out for a couple of weeks before you consider advertising him for sale? At least that way he will have a bit of hacking experience (which will in turn make him more saleable) and also as it will be most likely a small child who will buy him, the parents will feed happy letting their child take him in a hack knowing he has done this before at least a couple of times, rather than it being new to him. New pony + small child + hacking out for pony's first ever time = Disaster!
