Are secondhand saddles selling?

Trying to sell a couple of old saddles but haven’t seemed to have had much interest. Is the market for secondhand saddles slow? The Saddle bank have offered me a price but is about £175 lower than my lowest acceptance price but wondering if I should just accept it?!
 
One of my Amerigos took about 7 months to sell on FB marketplace. It was also on eBay as a buy it now. Luckily the money wasn't needed to replace so I could just let it languish until right person came along.
 
I’ve got a Barnsby VSD and none of the saddle places are interested , I’ve advertised it for hardly any money and no interest . It’s such a shame because it’s sitting in my wardrobe , such a waste . I’ve now got to the stage of giving it to a charity just to free up some space, I will try to sell it one more time in the next couple of months ..
 
My personal experience is that Saddlebank are fabulous to deal with, like others they a bit selective in what they will sell for you, which is understandable as they don't want to hold on to saddles which are in low demand or are older and a bit tired.

I had a lovely old Ideal saddle I'd been trying to flog for months on Facebook and eBay for £80. I happened to take it to a tack sale a couple of years ago and got £150 for it! May be worth going down that route if there's a sale near to you?.
 
Just watch if selling on facebook or car boots etc. Basically selling anything for cash. Loads of fake cash going around that is hard to spot. Police have warned us about this.
 
I bought mine second-hand from the Saddle Bank and then sold it back to them a year and a half later. They are so easy to deal with and arrange a courier to collect. Money was in my bank as soon as the courier delivered. I did get about £100 less than I may have done selling privately but it was so easy and immediate.
 
Well I am looking for a saddle for Mylo if anyone is selling cheap. A gp to back him in. It just needs to fit and I'll decide on a posh saddle at a later date! So something adjustable for a horse currently about 15.2 and fairly weedy still at 2 1/2.
 
I'd bite the bullet and take the offer from the Saddle Bank. I tried to sell a 3 year old Bates saddle a couple of years ago and had absolutely no interest. The Saddle Bank offered me about £150 less than the least I really wanted, but it was so easy to deal with them that I went ahead. Really glad I did and the saddle was gone.

Thanks I will look for a sale, I just need to offload it as I’m never going to ride again ☹️, and it’s pointless keeping it, I would be glad to get £150 , it cost me £750 new and only used for 2 years, it was the only saddle that fitted my horse and me after my lovely GP was stolen …
 
I’ve got an XXW WH saddle which I think is gonna be with me for a while as I don’t want to sell it for pennies 😩 but no way baby pony is going to fit it.

Pity you are so far away as I’d love my saddle to go to someone who I feel I know even though not in RL..

Hope you can find your saddle a home with someone who will enjoy many happy rides in it.

If it helps, I’ve got a bates caprilli jump (not for sale!) that has been a very useful breaking saddle for a number of mine over the years. It’s sat pretty well on all the sportier ones. It didn’t do the broader table top one. You’ll probably pick a decent condition one up for less than 500.
 
I've never been able to sell any of my old saddles hence I have a collection, but you never know when one might fit a horse again. Actually two of the saddles i've tried to sell i've ended up using again so maybe it was just fate telling me I need to keep them :-)

I have a 17 Inch adjustable kent and masters GP if any good

What brand? Perfect time to advertise it on the showing FB as people will be sorting saddles before the season starts! I've got at least 4 black country showing saddles to sell due to ponies changing shape, plus an albion dressage saddle to shift (17.5 M width high wither if anyone is looking) 🫣
