Are secondhand saddles selling?

I’ve got two nicely looked after saddles that not been able to sell. One is a medium narrow showing saddle so I appreciate there’s a limited market for that the other is more general purpose or jumping. It’s interesting because I think it’s a 17.5 though depending how you measure it can measure 18 but after his at home saddle with stolen the saddler told me it was okay to use on my 15.3 light frames ex racehorse as sbloom says the fit can vary. Saddlebank wasn’t interested due to the size.

I have just bought a 2yo Prestige for £1k. It is nearly new and immaculate. Seller said she had no interest so took my offer. I have seen the same saddles advertised for months. Have my lovely Amerigo dressage saddle that is now surplus to requirements but i think that will just end up sat in my tackroom for life as an ornament!

I'm looking for Reggie next (but not forever) saddle. He's still got a lot of filling out to do so I know this won't be his last upgrade, but I can't do another hot summer (hoping) riding in a plastic saddle. I don't need to go into detail 😜

I thought my criteria was pretty open but I'm really struggling.

GP
17inch (could go 16 or 16.5, but not 17.5)
Leather
Flocked (nature)
adjustable gullet
any colour

Budget up to £450 (£600 for something I really like)

I'm not expecting a saddle to ride at HOYS in just for hacking and a bit of light schooling this year and next. Am I expecting to much for my budget?

Would have thought you would find something easily. Shame not after one for HOYS as I have the one my hack wore at HOYS (it is medium narrow and not adjustable so doesn't fit your criteria anyway).

Thanks - I doubt he'll ever be a HOYS contender, but you never know.

Everything seems to be 17.5 and synthetic. I found a lovely leather Optimus with a changeable gullet. But my saddler said she didn't think it was worth the money and it would need re-flocking as she thinks it's flocked with yucky nylon stuff.

I've got 2 saddles with the saddle bank. My dressage has been their 18 months - my saddle fitter is gobsmacked it's not sold. I've also at the end of last year sent my jump saddle to them but no luck on wither of them so far - I have a lot of money sat in them waiting to be sold!!

I'll raise you a rack of saddles in my garage that are basically brand new and won't even sell at half price.

No, I don't think you are. I have sold a couple of almost brand new 16.5 Heritage GP saddles (non-adjustable) for £350 & £300 on ebay on the basis that I would rather have something back than zilch.

I’ve got an XXW WH saddle which I think is gonna be with me for a while as I don’t want to sell it for pennies 😩 but no way baby pony is going to fit it.
What brand? Perfect time to advertise it on the showing FB as people will be sorting saddles before the season starts! I've got at least 4 black country showing saddles to sell due to ponies changing shape, plus an albion dressage saddle to shift (17.5 M width high wither if anyone is looking) 🫣
What size is your saddle? I’m looking for similar in 161/2

Just watch if selling on facebook or car boots etc. Basically selling anything for cash. Loads of fake cash going around that is hard to spot. Police have warned us about this.
A week or so ago I paid for milk with a $100.00 bill and the checkout lady felt awful to have to check it but I told her it was good that she did as it alerts us to there being fake ones about. They have appeared only recently-ish (the last several weeks). She had a fake $50 bill pinned up and I asked her what she had to look for and apparently the phoney ones have no watermark and the word 'props' in tiny writing.

I blabbed all about it at the Senior Citizines' Club watercolour group. One of the ladies thought 'props' might mean they were done for a play or something. Idk. I did think that any counterfitter worth his salt would not go putting 'props' on fake notes so I thought this lady made a very good point.
