Are there any plus points to this weather?

My lammy shetland isn't gorging the spring grass.... :p

No fence repairs after her escape attempts because she's in 24/7...

Yes! I am shivering calories off, more mucking out and going back and forth to horse walker/field. Pushing 4 bales of hay half a mile a day...on the negative front after all that macdonalds seems more appealing than salad lol

My Gypsy Cob has super clean feathers and I haven't had to do anything to achieve that. It's usually a million kettles of hot water and endless shampooing. At the moment I just have to turn him out and the snow does all the work for me :D

Yes. I've been bomb proofing my youngster. He hated flapping exercise sheets. A couple of days lunging in this wind wearing the exercise sheet has cured that one.

The snow cleans up hooves beautifully and it's better than any amount of tubbing and poulticing for cleaning out abscess holes.

Luckily I don't have any with an abscess at the mo. *Touch wood* that it stays that way.

Even if I thought long and hard all evening I could not come up with a single reason not to complain. It's costing me a fortune. I'm cold. I hate mud and I neeeeeed vitamin D !

Too cold for idiots on dirt bikes to speed down the bridal paths near me.
Saves me screaming and swearing and 18yr olds high as a kite scaring my filly on land they shouldn't be on.

Plus no spring grass, but still some nice grass coming in I let her munch on a little on our walks :p

My 33 year old who loves snow got an extra load this year, who knows how many more she'll see so any extra chances to roll in snow are a bonus!
