Are there any plus points to this weather?

Muzzle free spring ! Haven't had to clip again, my expensive heavyweight turnouts are getting their money's worth :D It's actually quite nice in the cold after warming up riding, as you don't get too hot :p

NO FLIES !

Can still keep rugs on my coloured so he can't turn himself bay :D
Ice and snow is pretty...

Perfect excuse to buy more rugs ;)
Less people and dogs on the bridlepaths,
Its super cosy sitting in the tack room with a heater..
All that keeping warm burns off more calories which = more chocolate !

Voice of optimism here :D !

Only use I've found is packing snow around the bottom of glasses to keep beverages chilled while having a fag....literally the only thing lol

I look like I have lost ten stone instantly when I undress... I have legs like a rugby player from trudging through deep mud... I have fell over that many times I must be skilled in the art of falling so therefore I am ready to take the next step by attempting to ride rehab work on tb that performs exquisite airs above the ground despite claiming to be lame... And can eat many easter eggs without gaining any more pounds on my already ample behind because the cold and trying to trudge through mud and muck out with 20 layers of clothes burns off the excess sugar.

Clean boots :D
No mud
No flies
No mud
Its pretty
No mud
Fun to ride in
No mud
No rain and soggy clothes (much rather be cold than wet!)
No mud

On the downside, when it all thaws, theres even MORE mud and sogginess to contend with ... :(

Roll on sunshine :D

Yep. Chestnut pony remains a chestnut whilst covered in his rug - no matter how much he tries to make himself bay/brown he is foiled by his rug :-D.

Clean feet and legs - yay no mud - snow keeping him lovely and clean - dreading thaw - boo hiss Mud!! :-C

No guilt - cant ride so housework gets done :-D xxxxx

My big coat is getting some serious use. Though this is arguably a bad thing as the zip's broken  And I suppose the weeds in the garden aren't growing very fast but that's a moot point as it is too wet and cold to do any gardening. Oh well at least the cat is in need of lots of cuddles to keep him warm

My boots and dog are free of mud when we come home from the field - which is mum's major joy atm as there are no muddy footprints on her carpet and no muddy dog splashes on her bed :D
No flies or midges - HATE midges!
My electric fence charging horse can go naked - he's still warm and can itch himself freely and also my electric fencing stays up! :D
Um..... think that's about it really

The only thing I can think of is easier to groom when they are in - as no mud, etc...

However, this doesnt even apply to me - mine winter out :P

I bet my haylage supplier thinks it's great weather

No pluses that I can think of :( Under the snow it's still muddy, so it's just as miserable underfoot :(

My sweet itch mare is still naked. It's great! Both are still fat, so this weather buys me time to slim them down a little more.

Very few cyclists on the lane, puffing away and zigzagging up the road, trying to keep the bike going!
