are there any small horseboxes that carry 2 horses?

not keen on the van types but need to take a 15hh and a 16.1 ,so not sure if a 3.5 ton is too small, most seem to be advertised as pony boxes. would a 5 ton be ok. have only ever had a trailer so probably being a bit thick here.
 
Depends on weight of horses and all extra stuff you need to take with them.
The 3.5t I'm about to convert for OH will have a payload of around 1.2t and has 7'5" head room for horses with low level floor for stability.

I would say 3.5T too small, I have taken 2 in mine but only to show centre (literally) half a mile from me. Trouble is 5 tonners are at a premium
 
I don't know where you are based but I know a 3 horse lorry with living, 6 months tax an 11 months MOT for sale for £3k
 
im in lincs and passed my test many years ago. pm me re the box for sale. am looking for smallish box as parking is the problem when not being used. my trailer lives in the field or drive in winter but oh would not want a huge lorry outside.
 
If size is an issue then it might be worth getting a properly built 3.5 ton and having it uprated to 3.9t if that then gives you sufficient payload. Cant then be driven on post 97 car licence and has to have hgv type test rather than standrad car MOT but neither of these should be an issue to you.
 
Does depend on the lorry and horses though - obviously you have to be careful, but have a converted Renault van (3.5 tonne) and it carries our 16hh TB and 15hh welsh cob with no problems, wihtin weight limits, up hills and everything. It is a particualrly light van but still! As horses are good travellers and good friends the space is fine for them - so depends on your horses I think.
