A mirror? (or a large lifelike picture of a horse!) to keep him company and relaxed if he doesn't like being in on his own.

a football hanging from the celing, or even just on the floor if you cant hang it
One of the stallions where i used to loan my horse had one in his stable which kept him happily amused
Though was a pain for mucking out as i always forgot it was there and as it was a solid one so he couldnt pucture it I came away with many bruises when i kept on reversing into it when mucking him out lol
