Are there less comp reports?

how do you sort it so that the post are chronological? I don't like tyhem jumping about and also it means if an event has passed and I want to read everyones report then all I had to do was look back say 3 pages, but now some of those reports all posted at a similar time after the event get lost in the ether.

Maybe we should all decide to change our settings to the same things so it's back to the old style for all of us?....

I sometimes post competition reports but as my horse only does fairly uninteresting low-level dressage and sj hardly anyone reads the reports, let alone comments. So I can't really be boothered anymore! I think a lot of people feel that unless they are a "well-known" CR user, their posts don't get replies. So many of the CR users are eventers as well and the rest of us sometimes feel a bit left out I think! (no criticism towards anyone at all, just saying!)

I always look out for your reports and love to hear how Maggie is doing!!! I do try to reply to each one, so I hope I haven't missed any. Don't give up on the reports!!

Hmmm it has been a bit quiet of late, i really enjoy reading all the competition reports, especially as i'm not competing my boy at the mo, till he's been scanned, off box rest and got fit again.....mid June if i'm lucky! ;*)

Will wait to see if anyone can tell us all how to change the forum back so the posts stay in the same order....drives me mad, especially as i'm usually grabbing time at work with a cuppa tea!!

I have stopped posting them as a lot of the people that used to reply to mine don't seem to be here anymore such as Bananaman, Tempi, Finn McCoul and others. They are the people I 'know' so I feel rightly or wrongly that others wouldn't really be interested in the reports of a cheeky 17 year old Connemara trying to do dressage :D

Well I for one would be very interested to hear how the cheeky Connemara is doing. :) And I've found the smilies .

I havent been posting as much as it is just more time consuming! Also havent had much to report tbh, as LEC says, I am firmly in the not eventing crowd at the moment!!

Aww thank you Alibear in that case I shall post one after my BD outing on Saturday - watch this space lol:D
And yey you've found the smilies:cool:

i would report stuff, i have lots to say (!) but lurkers freak me out. which is lame i know!
i write a blog instead as then i have all my reports in 1 place as i love to read them back and see what i have been doing.

(there is a link in my profile if anyone is feeling like they need a report fix :D)

Im really hating the fact that the posts jump around I liked them to be in order of when they were posted, its driving me crazy!!! Ive not been competing as my nedy is injured so as soon as I start competing Ill post some reports again!!!

Im another in the:

"Stupid weather has spoilt my plans so events are cancelled, i live in an area where we don't have back-up events not even STRESSAGE!! I've managed to be ill, then the horse has been out of action and all my money has gone and i can't work out where i have spent it! CLUB :D "

PS also missing the poster who had a grey doing I level and was trained by Brook? (sorry can't remember name  )

You can get them back to chronological order but each time you leave the forum they'll jump about again to newest threads at the top.
Go to the forum index to the forum you want then there's a button somewhere (haven't used it, only heard about it!) that you can set to timed order but as I say, it jumps back to newest whenever you leave that forum - and it doesn't remember that setting at all, you have to set it every time so it's a bit of a pain.
Being geeky and having plenty of time, I found at the start that if I read each forum separately then marked them as read, it was much easier to keep up and now I just use 'new posts'. If you have 'instant email notice' turned on, even better, you don't have to keep going back to each forum, just read it in your email program so you know when you have answers.

BY the way, I don't compete but I do love reading your reports, so do please keep them coming.

i was thinking that it was rather quiet too.. :(
and not many reports.
plus i was a bit gutted when i did a report on belvs first BSJA outing, XC schooling and a successful lesson and got no replies...bad times we live in!

However it can only pick up :D so fingers crossed people return :D

Don't tend to do comp reports and am not competing at present but when we are back I out competing I will do one and expect lots of lovely comments. I like reading them, don't always comment but it is nice to see what people are up to.

I used to be out BS or BD every w'end & did posts about Adrian whether people were interested or not! Mine live at home in the middle of nowhere, so I literally have no-one else to tell if I come home from a comp elated or fed up.

However, Adrian is in Rossdales & I will be surprised if he wants to BD or BS ever again, & I can't take my racer out & about as there don't seem to be many comps for those who can just about walk in a wobbly line without falling over...

Fear not, when Tiger/Trevor starts going to parties, I'll start posting again.

I too hate the fact that the threads won't bl**dy well stay still. It drives me distracted.

i really don't like the new forum...its not as user friendly...it keeps sending you back to the first page and i can't be bothered scrolling through to find new posts. i've stopped putting on comp reports...there are some unpleasant people that i know in RL lurking on here and i don't like them reading my posts but not having the guts to comment...so only tend to come on to get some advice now and i do like to read other people's reports :)

Funnily enough I always had my settings to show threads with new posts first, so it hasn't changed for me - I had to read a few posts to understand what you were all on about!

I have discovered the 'reply' button now which is helpful but still having trouble with smilies - all i get is a list of 'post icons' which don't appear within the post. Actually I'm not sure where they appear so I'm experimenting with this post and a 'thumbs' smiley...!

I too keep missing posts entirely as I'm out from 8am - 4pm so most of what's happened is very far back and I don't have the time when it's sunny to go and look back for them. I also think the recent sun means that less people have been on here recently :).

100% agree with this!!

If I read a comp report - I will always reply even if it only says 'well done - clever...'

Esp if its a dressage report, as never feel qualified to comment on dressage scores etc.

An eventing one I might at least be able to make a more constructive comment.

I always comment though regardless of level, as someone's 2'6 PC ODE is just as important to then as my intro, or someone elses intermediate.

It really freaks me out (and obviously lots of others as well) to see my report has 400 reads, but only 10 replies.

Then I start to worry who is reading them (and not replying).

Exactly how I feel, got fed up writing long reports, photos and sometimes vids for a couple of replies and usually you are one of the replies lol:D
