Are there more mice this year?

Last winter(if you could call it a winter) was the first time I saw rats at work, we are overrun with mice too, which is totally not normal, in the 6 years I have been here, we have never had a problem up until the last 12 months. Flies were also a problem over the summer, more than normal and fleas. Our pest control guy said it was the mild winter last year and humid summer that has caused most of our problems. It is frustrating. I too can sympathise with those that bait their attics and have to suffer the stink of a dead body

My springer has caught one rat and a couple of mice so far this winter, that's about average for the time of year.

A good pest control person will sort rats in a chicken run out within weeks.

Yup I have them in my feed store and they keep visiting my horsebox too (don't know why there isn't a single crumb of food in there). Anyway I've tried being nice and using a sonic repeller which hasn't worked so now I've resorted to poison which I don't really like doing. Have been using it for about a month and although the boxes keep getting moved around and most of the bait taken, I still don't think I've got on top of the blighters. Definitely worse then any other year.
