Next year or thereabouts, I'll be looking for a sharer who'd want to jump BS and move up the classes. I don't enjoy jumping enough to want to do it myself, and once the horse is beyond 1m or thereabouts I'm not really up for it anymore, so would be looking for someone who'd like to go further with a horse who most certainly has the scope.

Is there any chance at all, that I'd find someone who wanted to do that? Or even that had the knowledge to do that, who didn't already have their own?

I share as I don't have my own horse. I have always wanted to compete however other than the odd local show here and there I haven't been able to for many reasons (transport etc).

If the opportunity came up and I was looking for a share,I would jump at the chance to compete as it has always been something that I have wanted to do however i'm not very experienced at that kind of thing.

So, I think there are definitely people out there, its just finding them that's the problem!

I cant see why not. You might not find some one thats been there and done it before but I'm sure you could find some one with the ability to that hasnt had the horse power before.

When my mare started work, my daughters were too young to ride her so a neighbour's teenage daughter (who had sold her competiition pony when she was doing her A levels) shared / competed her. Gave her something to compete without the commitment of owning a horse & was fantastic for my mare. I'm sure there are lots of people who would love the oppotunity to share / compete a nice horse.

I certainly would! Am sharing a lovely pony who I'm hoping to do some unaffiliated shows with but if I had the opportunity to, I'd love to progress to affiliated and have regular lessons as financially I can't afford my own horse yet. I'm sure there are the right sharers out there :)

I would. Mines retired from major competing & with pony mad child theres no budget for buying or competing one of my own. When daughter moves on to mine budget dictates a green youngster in a few years. But if I saw a share like yours I'd rather do that & be able to compete.

I found a sharer for my horse at the beginning of this year as I have gone back to uni (again :p) and couldnt give him the work he needs. We now both compete and sharer is doing her first BE100 at end of month. Horse is very experienced upto 1.10m however so is acting as schoolmaster at moment. If money runs out and I have to stop competing she will carry on though. Pony loves eventing, we love eventing, everyone's happy and it was fact she could compete that sharer took him on. hope you find a sharer as lovely as mine :D

Where abouts are you?

Would be a perfect situation for me because little horsey will have to go back when I start college but would love something like that without being down 7 days a week:)

Definatley. My daughter is 18 and doing a levels so not keen to buy a new horse as will be off to uni. We have a fab share horse and hope to be competing in all disciplines over the summer. i think its a perfect solution and have no doubt you will have people interested.
