Now we have our lorry and Sidney is slowly on the mend, Hubby and I really want to get out more with the boys.
Neither of us are brilliant riders but enjoy schooling, hacking and jumping (very small jumps!).
So we're after ideas of what we can do / where we can go?

Does anywhere do Adult camps for horses?

Or can anyone recommend anywhere to take the horses on a short break?
Any ideas gratefully appreciated. The lorry has living so we can stay in that if needed?

Lots of Riding Clubs have camps for adults!

Plus my mum once went to a Geriatrics Camp held by my Pony Club!

Many riding clubs hold adult 'camps' catering for all levels of training. Check out the BHS website for your nearest riding club. It is great fun, you will learn loads, and meet lots of other people who want to enjoy their horses.

Google 'horse camp' - they have lots of adult pony camps held at various venues around the country, so I'm sure there will be one in travelling distance for you

I think Somerford Park, near Knutsford in Cheshire do them. No idea what they are like, but they have plenty of facilities there.
I reckon I learnt more at the weeks I did at PC Camp than in a lifetime of lessons! Can't say the thought of sleeping in my horse trailer for a week does much for me now but I daresay the adult ones are a bit more civilised!!

I have been to Milton Keynes Event Centre for the last two years, just for 4 days, you can hire out the facilities/stables. It was fab, I'm in my forties and just hacked ( its brill around there) and booked a lesson, and watched everyone else. In the evening, we gathered around my lorry, drank wine and had bbq's fantastic

Unfortunately the riding club I went with isn't doing it this year, but if anyone is doing/going to one I'll come!!

I'm the same, used to ride a lot when I was younger and then I had about 12 years off, it's not like getting back on a bike is it!!
If you find a good adult pony camp, please please let me know!!

Here is the blurb on the Derbyshire one....

Adult Riding Camp

COURSE SUMMARY Ever been jealous of your child going to camp and having fun or longing to relive your pony club days? Well this is your chance. This is a 2 1/2 day course - arrive Friday afternoon, leave Sunday evening. It is designed for riders with their own horse. Each day will include a flat and jump lesson (not compulsory for non-jumpers), stable management lecture, hack round the estate and plenty of fun. There will be an off-site excursion on Saturday night. All horses will be stabled at the College for the duration of the course. Riders must provide their own accommodation, either tent or caravan and all meals. Day riders are also welcome.

My riding club do one in Spring and then again in Autumn, I'm always usually too slow to book but this year I'm on the ball and have booked a place for May and have the time off work already

I can't wait! Just need to find £220 to pay for it
