Are these 'burnt' orangey patches in the paddock just where pony has weed?

Never noticed them before but now there are a good few dead patches. Looks like pony's urine has killed sections. He hasn't been in that bit for a few weeks now. Will the grass grow back?

Yes, we had one horse who's wee killed the grass, coblets doesn't though! And it grows back fine

It's never happened before (we've had him since October). I've never seen it before either!

I think it's something to do with protine in their diet, not sure though as we only had the horse 8 weeks so never really sorted the problem!

Protein? He only has grass. Maybe it's just lack of rain.

Grass is full of protein at this time of year!! Was grass fertilised before he went on it?!

Interesting... my oldie has been in summer diet paddocks for the last 25 years and this is the first year I've noticed burnt grass. Perhaps it's weather related.

It's the ammonia in the urine which scorches the grass when the sun gets on it.

Yes I have it where we had the drought and the sun and its dead! Mind you the monsoon made up for it. Smell of wee. Deep breath...love it!
