Yes, they're for turnout. I had one about 10 years ago now, and it was good. More durable than a fly sheet.
I had a big chestnut ID X who seemed happier in it, although as I type this I can hear people screaming that there was no way can adding a rug make a horse cooler.

I mean, white reflects light, as opposed to absorbing it like darker colours. A light coloured, breathable flyrug will definitely help keep a dark coloured horse cooler.
There's a reason they've been painting roofs white in India, here's an article about it I read a while ago:

Ive got one, but personally Ive only ever used it when turned out overnight to keep them clean for a show the next day (used to have a grey!). It was fine for that, but I wouldnt use it long term out as think mine would trash it.

Yes they are for turnout. They serve the same purpose as the Amigo Aussie Allrounder which I use on my horse to protect the crest of his neck (where his mane is thin) from sunburn. I find it also keeps the flies off and doesn't rub like fly rugs can.

Used for 48 hrs and this is the result. So he’s now had to go without over the weekend and weatherbeeta are saying it’s a fit issue. No shit Sherlock, I’d worked that out. What a waste of money. Same both sides.

Those people that have one, did you have any problem with it slipping? I've got one but I put it on, horse walked off and rolled rather enthusiastically and it was hanging off the side when he got up. Not sure if it's because it's only got the one belly strap, but the only thing stopping it sliding right off seemed to be the leg straps which had wedged them as high as possible between his legs, when he stood up the leg strap on one side was wedged up by his dock.

It does seem like a nice rug though. If I could just get it to stay where its meant to be it would be brilliant.

I've had issues with the "KOOL" rugs not fitting, the plain branded weatherbeeta versions seem to be better quality, though a bit more ££
