and I didnt even get wet!!! Only out hacking, but it was proper hacking as in a good 30-40 minutes! yay. The roads are fine around by us now, but the fields and school still a bit snowy so hoping that will clear tomorrow as heavy rain forecast. Considering they've been stuck in for 2 weeks without turnout or any ridden work they all behaved perfectly. My mood is instantly lifted... have been such an irritable b*tch lately, cant cope without my daily riding fix!!!

No.

Arena still under ice and solid as concrete under it anyway. Track leading out to hacking like an ice rink, as is track from trailer park around to car park and down driveway onto main road.

Yup that's me!

They're threatening rain for our area over the weekend, so hopefully will thaw out asap. Lucky you getting back in the saddle though.

Bet the horses enjoyed it too. At least mine has been getting turnout, she'd have gone mad otherwise.

Still icey around the yard this morning with rain on top, lovely, so OH has spent the day pulling 5 manes and tiding neddeis up in the hope we can start "proper" work on Monday, fingers tightly crossed!

omg so jealous!!!! havent been able to ride for some time. in the summer i broke my horse in and was looking forward to do some riding over the christmas holidays, but with the snow, that hasnt happened!!! hopefully will be able tomorrow even if it is just schooling, i need to get back in the saddle before i forget what it feels like lol

lol I looked at mine this morning thinking how badly they needed a tidy up, manes all over the place, greasy patches from being stuck in their indoor rugs 24/7, feathers and even whiskers

all getting a bit out of hand. Shall be up there armed with trimmers and pulling comb tomorrow I think...and shall have to reclip when back in proper work as they're all getting a bit on the wooly side!

It is going to be a while before we can hack out, but tomorrow I AM going to go for a road hack so long as it doesn't freeze tonight! We managed to put them on the walker today in prep, it was hard work getting it deiced and usable, but it was worth it! I got a new Butet in Dec and I have only sat in it once, I cannot wait for tomorrow

Tomorrow!!! We still have a shed loads of ice, but it is melting! I am off indoors tomorrow for a clinic....help,

he's been ridden twice in a month, but trainers knows that, so thought it would be safer being indoors than hacking out!!!

Hoping to ride tomorrow

I lunged Chloe today in the small temp indoor school at my new yard, can't wait to ride her though
smile.gif
The outdoor school has been raked twice today so should be rideable in tomorrow

Yep. Back in the school today. Our spavins are really not good at all tho, so I'm quite down about it. I'm s'posed to ride rather than rest him but he's not a happy bunny.

I schooled yesterday and today and will lunge tomoro and then see about going hacking on sunday as I daren't risk the forest with a lurgy bit of ice hanging around plus a loopy pony

Hacked out Tues and Wed, and lunged Thurs. School levelled this evening before the rain/wind started so hopefully should have a productive weekend.

My girls are v hairy and goat like at the moment, so will have the clippers out soon as soon as they have done a bit.

We actually have our outdoor school back as of today!! Still had snow on it this morning, but was raining and warmer temps so got the harrow out and have never enjoyed harrowing it so much in my life, first time I've seen it brown in ages. My mare stood by the fence watching me as I did it - think she was pleased too! Then we went out and did some cavaletti before going out for a hack. Felt so good to be out of the indoor school - she's a pain indoors, finds it very stimulating!

YES, thank God!

Outdoor school has been usable, if a bit boggy, since yesterday and was absolutely HEAVING today as everyone made the most of it! I am relatively lucky as I was able to have a lesson last monday in the indoor, so have not been off as long as some of you, but very frustrating when I wanted to get back into riding after 6 months off!
