are we good enough to affiliate?

if you feel your horse is capable of jumping the height there is no reason why you shouldn't give affiliated a go. i jumped my friends 6yr old round a BN last year no problems and would quite happily push him to Disco as he is more than capable. its about you both enjoying it.

Of course you are!!! :D

Go for it on a ticket first and have a go.....then when you realise you are as good if not better than some of the others you can affiliate if you want to.

There will always be people who say you shouldn't but in my experience they are only jealous! If you feel the time is right.......go and do it.

Best of luck and let us know how you get on :D:D:D:D

You could try a show that starts at 70/80 cm and jump a couple of classes there. You can have a go 'on a ticket' where you just pay extra per class and don't have to affiliate (can't win prizes though). It's a way of finding out if you can do it. Remember many BS courses are built bigger than their unaff equivalents so enter a height lower than you normally would, the first time you go.

What height iis he - is he a horse or a pony?
As you are 17 you will have to jump in the adult classes which are the horse classes.
As others have said there are intro shows and sure he would be capable of jumping round a British Novice too - which is 3 foot.

Good luck and have fun.

I've noticed at the lower levels there are a lot of teenagers (in my area anyway) so don't worry about competing against adults, they're probably more worried about the teens. :D

go for it! May as well have a go, although as others have said, worth going on a ticket first :) I'm 17 and have just joined my 14"2 so could be interesting against the adults on horses

If you're already competing at a Show Centre that runs both Unaff and Affiliated, you'll probably find the courses of the same height pretty similar.

Yes, definately go for it. Your horse looks lovely :o)
