I did consider whether to post, due to a certain level of trepidation Faracat - the lack of love for Arabs is something I'd spotted before <ducks head under parapet>.
I realise I'm in the minority here, am biased having just bought one, and that they really aren't fashionable at present, but you may want to consider an Arab. They're usually 14.3-15.3hh and are brill all rounders. You don't have to get an extreme one (Crabbet types are quite normal-looking horses without that snort and blow). Plus, because Arabs only appeal to a small number of people, you can get a massive amount of horse for your cash. Which is funny, because 30 years ago, Arabs were fetching literally millions. Now, a 3k budget will buy something lovely that can do a little bit of everything and will jump 1m quite happily. My new lad is only 5, and has taken the move to a new yard with aplomb. You'd think he'd been there for years.
