I have to confess i am
blush.gif

Every single bit of shavings needs to be swept back from the front bit of the stables, every single bit of hay, shavings, dust (!) needs to be swept up from the stables area of the yard....

Our whole concreted area of yard is huge and i swept the whole thing in the pouring rain yesterday

because it is easier to sweep when wet as the mud and bits don't stick to it

looks much better although i know it won't stay like it for long

Not as far as beds and the yard go, they are swept but I'm not going to get upset about the odd few shavings. I do get upset if things aren't put back where they belong and am a bit obsessive about keeping my stuff clean

I'm not

My friend opposite my stable sweeps up the mess outside my stable most nights, unless YO beats her to it

My bed often has minced droppings in it which I can't be bothered to pick up, and Meg quite often goes to bed with mud on her ears that I've missed when grooming

There is also a trail of shavings and haylage leading from my car through the house despite my best efforts

Yes and no. I like all my things put back where they belong and clean. His bed is really clean and neat but I dont get too stressed about the yard as my stable is by the muck heap and people drop bits all the time. I brush up all my own mess and do the trail of muck every now and then. I like my horse spotless though and hate the winter with all the mud.

Our stables are indoor, there are the pony I ride and my friends pony stabled on one side then the owners daughter has two horses on the opposite side. Me and my friend always sweep outside our stables, but they never sweep their side up which really annoys both of us! Keep beds as tidy as possible and tack rooms are tidy (but not neccessarily dust free!

stables/yard have to be neat and horses clean as possible according to season but I have 3 trunks and only I know what is in each as there is no logical order to anyone else - theory is that by the time they work out where I've put something it would be faster to 'borrow' from someone else !!

Not a freak as such but particular, which is quite amazing really because at home I'm a complete mess, clothes where they drop, pots all over etc. etc.

Stables must be just so though

I am a bit obsessive, we have very old stables with drainage ridges in the floor and I can't stand it when the other liveries don't sweep the stable floors properly or wash them down when they are really stinky.
I hate it if I go to the yard and feet have been picked out onto the yard and not swept. My friend and I sweep the yard, tackroom amd feed room every weekend and tidy up everyone elses mess, the only person who ever notices and thanks us is the farmer who owns the yard.
I always like to have things neat and tidy.

The horse gets cleaned from top to bottom every night when she comes in - she is a skewbald with more white than brown so the mud really shows up. She also has very pink skin so am trying to avoid mud fever!!

I go through phases of cleanliness - the muckheap was looking fantastic about 3 weeks ago until we had to totally muck out 2 boxes and I just couldn't face making the muckheap nice again so just looks like a big mountain of shavings!! Her stable gets mucked out morning and, if she's been in during the day, at night with the front swept and old hay swept up. She then walks in and messes it up in 2 seconds!! I also have to empty and refill her water buckets twice a day whether they have been drunk or not, even if they don't have any shavings or hay in them. Not quite sure why I'm so anal about that!!

Having had 9 to look after at my last job I am now ecstatic about only having one and being able to do her really, really properly. Doesn't stop her going lame though despite all the pampering she gets!!

I'm a 100% neat freak....I clean all my bottles of shampoo, sprays and tubs even if there is a slight bit of mud or dust on them....not one brush has a hair on them in my grooming kit(And yes I do use them!) My buckets, spotless and yard tools sparkle....sad really!

sort of
grin.gif

my tack is always spotless, and cleaned after every use, and all boots/bandages/numnahs washed.
my stable is a different matter, i try, but horse is very messy, so ive sort of given up!!!!

I am in a way. my stable has to be spotless with the edges of the bed in a straight line, the banks level etc. i empty water bucket even if nothing wrong with it and pony has a haynet coz i can't stand hay on the floor. i hate going in in the morning and seeing the mess he has made! i take his rug iff and brush him from top to toe every night even if he is staying out. all tools etc have to be put back in the right place. at home however i couldn't care less! we are a weird bunch!!!

I am, definitely. Only when it comes to the yard and the horses though. At home I'm the absolute opposite, the house is a tip.

I have obsessive compulsive disorder about stable, every crumb swept up, and start again if the wind dare blow a bit on my patch. Glad my stable is on its own, the other girls arent anall bout it like me and it stresses me to death!!!!
His rugs have to be immaculate, he has to be mudless! Everything spotless!
Blimey, I sound like i need a psychiatrist. best end it there !!!
(glad its not just me though! hehe)

Hi im Waynetta slob................ There is always a pile of mud outside my stable from picking the feet out!! hey least i sweep it and everyday when i muck out i forget to put it in the barrow, on the other hand my oh is excellent with a shovel and brush...bless

Yes, my yard and stables are always spotless. My tack room has a place for everything. My tack isnt always though as probably only do that once a week.
My house suffers...its not horrendous though and I try and keep it tidy every evening.
I do have to have matching everything for the horses.ie rugs, buckets, haynets etc. what a saddo I am!!

I thnk I probably am, my horse has other ideas though! He is messy with his bed but I always leave it spotless and swept in properly, I do the front of my stable every day and my section in the barn with all my things is tidy, I worry where knives are so I've given everything its place. I groom him everyday before he is turned out, he rolls as soon as he gets out though, bring on the summer when theres no mud!
