Are you a scruffy or tidy horse owner?

What you are doing is correct, the old fashioned horse men would have two to four horses and it would take them a full day to care for them. The strapping of horses and whisping has become a forgotten thing of the past and a daily oiling of the feet is such a quick simple little job compared to what used to be done.

I always do my horses over, that way you dont miss little scratches, bites etc. Sounds like you a lovely mum

my beds are also immaculate, i like everything tidy and the gravel yard raked, and i clean my tack when ive ridden

Everyone thinks ive got OCD. My horse is always groomed before riding - there cant be any muck on her at all and definitley no shavings in her tail (huge pet hate!) Ive got to be colour coordinated with my clothes and have a matching numnah on! Also when muckinh out everything has got to be in its place, all swept up nicely. You can always tell which my horses are on the yard as the stables are always set up the same. My tack is cleaned when I have ridden and the bit is always washed off as soon as the bridle is taken off. My boots/chaps are always wiped down when I take them off then put away ready for teh next ride.

I am probably a scruff compared to most of you.

My horse is only skiped out during the week and the wet taken out once a week, water buckets and feed buckets are usually soaked and then rinsed out but very rarley scrubbed!! Tack is hardly ever cleaned even for shows. Horse is never groomed in the winter unless its for a show and is only given a flick over in the summer to get sweat patches off. also my rugs have never been cleaned unless they have needed to be repaired

How ever i do keep everything neat and tidy and always clean up after myself as i dont think its fair on others if i leave the yard in a state. And i do look after my stuff even though i dont religously clean it.

Very scruffy i guess. My horse doesnt get groomed other than tack areas before riding, my foal gets groomed daily but only because he needs to be handled lots, in winter horse is stabled in his turnout overnight, beds are cleaned but loose hay is at the bottom to soak up the wee rather than get rid of it and never sweep it so it always looks untidy but is clean, dont sweep anywhere outside stable, all grooming stuff is just chucked in the tack room randomly i dont even no where half of it is, i cant remember the last time i cleaned my tack, my rugs are still down the field even no they arent being used, i dont clean the horses feed buckets out when they have finished. Bad horse owner clearly.

um probably on the fence. My horse is the most disgusting creature under the sun, his stable is an absolute state every morning and I muck it out properly every day, hate any poo or wet left in.

He also enjoys rolling in poo, and it is very difficult to keep his white bits clean, especially legs. He's groomed and feet picked out every day whether I'm riding or not, and groomed after riding too. His legs are washed a few times a week otherwise they stain terribly, and has a full bath a few times a month when it's warm enough, which he loves!

have to have level banks and nice flat bed, I hate other people doing my stable!

Scruffy here, mainly groom saddle and bridle area. SH is on full livery but I usually scrub out his water bucket.

I definitely don't suffer from OCD! I am clean and tidy enough not to compromise my horse's welfare and that's it! I suspect my horse doesn't give a monkeys whether I groom her and oil her feet before she goes to bed or whether her saddlecloth and bandages are colour co-ordinated!
