I hadn't, as far as I'm aware, mentioned that Parkranger was abusive.
She, Parkranger asked about why forum members would care about JM07.
I just reminded her that people do care, as they did in her situation.
As for lurking and the amount of time etc.
I would say it depends on the individual's restraint.
It is a strong possibilty that I may not reply again for another 3 years.

Ooh, just got in from the pub, and this thread is still going! Another of the many reasons I love HHO!
As for the banned poster, I had no idea who she was and only read the thread out of boredom/love of a scandal, until someone posted the link to the "offending" thread.
I think that "rude" is a bit too kind - I read that poster's posts as nasty. In fact, some got a sharp intake of breath from me. After years and years on forums, I don't do that lightly!
If you really do care about a horse's welfare - you'll do your best to engage the poster whose horse you have concerns about, and the last thing you'd do is use it as a stage for your adoring blind followers to love your latest display of "telling it like it is".
There are plenty of astoundingly excellent horsepeople on this forum who are civil.
The best thing about all this hoo ha is, all the people left who have spoken out have gained respect in doing so
and those who berate Admin's decision (and remember - Admin do what they do, against T&Cs - they don't ban just because a group of members has had the courage to speak out) have shown their true colours too. Enjoy your new, splinter faction forum I'm sure you'll make - and when the original subject is bored, also enjoy the unnecessary barbs he/she will chuck at you, too

I doubt this forum will go to pot because one person has been banned.
Its laughable people crying saying who on earth will they go to for advice now... what a kick in the teeth for the knowledgeable peeps out there that offer valuable advice without being nasty. Beggars belief really.

I find the problem is identifying the people who are knowlegeable between those that pretend they are knowlegable, I read a lot of good advice on here and I also read a lot of shocking bad advice given as if the person is a renowned expert.
There are few people on here that I have faith in what they say, and thanks admin that list is decreasing in an alarming manner!
As is it seems is the ability for freedom of speech.
