And would anyone be willing to let me just spend time around horses, just looking at them and stroking them? 🤔
I'm 56 years old and I haven't ridden or been around horses for about 6 years, I unfortunately have Long Covid after getting Covid in March 2020, physical activity of any kind exhausts me, I desperately want to be around horses again but am not physically able to ride or even volunteer at a stables (mucking out, grooming, helping with rides, etc would be too much for me) I can only drive short distances due to fatigue, so am looking at around a 20min drive from central Stockport, during the week, just to spend time around horses and that feeling that you get just being around them would do my heart and soul so much good and make me feel like "me" again 🐴💕

Right now I'm a 20 minute drive from Stockport train station if that helps. Weekday traffic might be a bit longer though. I think I've messaged you before and the drive was a bit too far then, but you're welcome to try us out and see if the drive is manageable.

Hi yes we did speak a few months ago, unfortunately I think you're right and weekday traffic would be longer than 20mins, but I will definitely be in touch if I improve and can manage a longer drive without the risk of a relapse 😊

I asked a few months ago on The Tack Room, and got some lovely replies but no one in my area, I might try again but am also going to ask on local fb groups 😊

Are you sure you can't manage the drive to Somerford Maxine? How about trying asking this place, it's a very low pressure little riding school tucked away in Poynton who might be happy to have you there midweek when the kids are in school.

I would love to be able to get to Somerford, it looks amazing, but it is too far just now 😕
I used to ride and help out at Bank Farm a few years ago, so might try there again, it might sound weird but I would prefer to go somewhere new, where no one knew the "old me" - the fit, healthy one who could do anything, rather than the Long Covid me, hope that makes sense?

Is Alderley Edge too far? I have a private yard which is so peaceful and tranquil, totally off the beaten track with my gang of 3 who would love someone to fuss and pamper them a few days a week. They're all lovely temperaments x
Oh wow it sounds amazing, but unfortunately is too far for me to drive at the moment 😕 Thank you for the offer though 😊

Likewise....im often in stockport as its where I grew up and my parents still live there (in offerton). They often have my daughter so I could happily pick you up after dropping her off as I'm doing the journey anyway! It's doing me a favour as sometimes I need an extra few hours in the day to do feet, groom, etc etc xx
