Are you in touch with your horses previous owner?

I have the owners of my first horse as a friend on facebook, and the owners of my second horse email me quite regularily.
Its great I love the updates as both horses I Loved to pieces, and it is nice to see they are doing so well.

I am in contact still with Carma's old owners. I had Carma for 19 years before she was sadly put to sleep in April this year. Have always stayed in touch and will always stay in touch now even though Carma has gone.

I now have Flin and I am still in touch with his old owner and will always stay in touch as long as she wants to hear about him. She didn't want to sell him but needed to for circumstances beyond her control, so can understand how it may hurt for her to hear about him.
 
I have owned my horse for twelve years, and still, every Christmas, I send a card and photos to his old owners. They do appreciate it - if they haven't received my card before they send theirs to me, they always ask. And if they receive mine they will always write a 'thank you' in theirs.
I guess this might seem excessive, but I won't stop doing it now.

Most of the horses i have sold i get updates on, and i love to see them progressing!

The horse i bought last year (from a dealer) was originally from Belgium, i contacted the stud where they had owned him for 7yrs and sent them a full update!

They wrote back to me over the moon and sent me some lovely pictures of him as a foal.

He is now featured on their website with me which is nice!
