Following on from Cala's post really....

Just wondering about dogs being like their owners, or not?

Islay - black glossy coat, slim and attractive, but wants to murder everything she comes across

Flick - white and splotchy but immaculately turned out, hyperactive and over effusive

Which one is me?

Big dog - hairy, grey, smelly, ridiculously energetic, helpful, tries his heart out, fiercely loyal when he knows you but a bit gobby with people he has never met before.

Little dog - neurotic, evasive, yappy, hyperactive, sweet, pretty, affectionate, immaculate, flirty, tries to hide in her bed when she doesn't want to do something, not great with other females.

Which one am I???!!!!

Hmmm - Henry - scruffy, keen on jumping in head first, stubborn as a mule and often seen with messy hair.

Yep, sounds like me

Toby, if he were human, would be wearing a smoking jacket, monocle, sitting by the fire in a large leather chair looking very solemn.

Flyn, Madly energetic, always right in your face, incredibly affectionate and pulls cute puppy dog faces for a cuddle, obedient but a bit of a Chav.

Nope, neither like me then!!

Yep! Big, hairy, anti social, tiresome chore of a person... That smells slightly off and wallows in mud!
Actually the best thing is to reproduce the dedication we did for Haz when he died:

"To tell you all about Hazzie would take us a lifetime . . .

Our first wolfhound, and to say he was a teacher of all things canine is not strictly true. He thought himself above most canines and therefore human. He was tatty and a total swamp dog. He was exhausting and stubborn beyond belief. Intelligent and independent to the point of snobbery. Comical, persistent and affectionate when it suited. A real champion of the underdog but hater of bullies. A companion of extreme expression and a defender of our lives against hedgehogs!!!!( He would go nuts if he saw one!)

Never ill but always injured. A prolific hunter and this is what he lived for. A phenomenal exerciser finding sleep a necessity rather than pleasure. Lived life on the edge when he could escape the watchful eye of us, his neurotic owners.

A rogue, a king, an irreplaceable pain in the backside. There will never be another Hazzie puppy. He was our life.

If there is a Rainbow Bridge, he will be sat underneath it in the skanky water waiting for everybody's pet furries to cross over . . . with devilish intent . . . rather like the Troll in the fairytales!"

Ability to sleep all day... check!
Easily distracted... check!
Greedy... check!

A bit smelly... well, I hope not...

But yes, I am a bit like the dog...

mmmm, let's see.. :

Friendly and sociable - yes
Loves food (Labrador) - oh, yes
Medium brown fur - yes
Devoted to husband - yes

Overly fond of eating horse poo and rolling in anything else she comes across - not so much!

In personality yes, we both love food and can be wary of strangers until we know them.

In looks I really hope not,,,,,,,,,,,, he's a British bulldog.

Well we both like to eat and sleep a lot! We both have dark hair and not very good co-ordination. I hope I am not as smelly and I certainly can't lick my bits! I also draw the line at eating fox and rabbit poo.

Completely stark raving bonkers and out of control unles crashes out!

Yet really quite adorable when quiet, and well loved all round despite everything?

OMG I am Beaus clone!

(except not a black hairy creature, except on haloween....... HOOOOOOOOOOWWWWLLLLLLLL!)

Well I have,
Saffy, 11 and a half, a bit stiff and slightly deaf, going grey round the muzzle.
Buffy, nearly 9 , sweetest nature imaginable but a bit dim
Evie, 14 months, nutty as a fruitcake, always in trouble and has endless energy.

Sadly I think I am most like Saffy

A bit of a wimp (who am I kidding, a TOTAL wimp!), hater of confrontation, lurves food, very loyal to people she loves but a little bit wary of strangers... I am like her in those ways.

Will run until she's tired and then run some more, will absolutely try her heart out at anything you ask, is never happier than when she knows you're pleased with her, tall, skinny and dark-haired, likes to eat chicken poo. Not like her in these ways!

12 yrs old, never knows when to give up and stop before she's had too much, fussy with food and can have a dodgy tummy when she eats the wrong thing, doesn't like loud noises, intelligent and thoughtful, runs fast and sharp to follow commands, loves the sea and rolls in fox poo if found, can look really pretty and can look wild with bed head in the morning!!

Bits are me and bits are not. Not saying which bits!
