hello

So you have all heard the saying "dogs are like there owners" do you think it counts for horses too???

I have been told on more then one occasion that i am like paddy.

How so you are wondering :D
well we both greet everyone with a neigh or a hi,we both go frizzy if we are caught in the rain :p
we are both clumsy :D

So what about you????

Do you think moody owners breed moody horses??

I am highly strung, a bit of a minx but loyal to the bitter end just like my girl! However I dont much like carrots or being hosed which she doesnt seem to mind so maybe we arent so much alike! Oh but we do have the same colour hair! :D

tragically - i actually think i am quite like my mare
we are both sturdy birds, of irish breeding, both quite aloof & dont have a great need for company - both have a bit of a temper & can get quite agressive if annoyed - neither of us are particulalry brave & can panic in scary situations - more positively, we both work very hard & have a go at most things - so the question now is - have i made her like this or was i attracted to a horse with similair qualities to me?

We are both accident prone but thats where it ends. Wish i could loose weight as quick as he does. I am good doer and horse is most definately not :D

I think I am quite like my youngster. Opinionated, can be highly strung but once I have a bond with someone its strong, trusting and takes a lot of break it.

Great thread!
Yes, like him in that have a silly fringe (forelock) and can be excitable and spooky. I dislike the wind too. Also am like the appaloosa, being grumpy and obsessed with food. I have been known to flatten my ears (!?) and kick if someone gets too close. Am not at all like the pony, who is tarty and flirty with the 2 geldings, honest!

Interesting post

yes - we are both very grumpy at times :p we are both accident and injury prone, we both have a love of raw carrot and polo mints,
we both like lots of attention and we both like talking to everyone we meet :) And according to all my friends I speak posh (I really don't, they're just all chavs :p ) and he is stuck up his own TB bum alot of the time :D

yup!
fairly sturdy and hardy, good doers and kind (I'd like to think!). Bit blond with quite a stubborn streak but both capable of good work when we put our mind to it. Won't work nicely if rushed or asked in a way we aren't happy with! Both with a bit of a tendency to be rather contrary though, need a person we can rely on and trust. - my mare and I were seperated at birth!!

My new horse is very flashy looking but at heart is the village idiot, the big warmblooded dope :D

I do not look flashy but am also a bit silly, and also not a big fan of missing out on the action so tend to protest when I feel left out, as does he when brought in first from the field! He also doesn't like getting his shoes muddy - neither do I...lol

Nothing like him, thank god!

As for the mare, dark, pretty, big chest, long skinny legs, sexy J-Lo bum....

Nope nothing like her neither!

As for personalities, more like the mare, nothing like Mackenzie.

and why do I call her 'the mar'e but refer to my boy with his proper name?...:rolleyes:

Definitely.

Skinny overall, no meat on the bones, mane that's too long, a HUGE b.u.m and no shoulders at all.

He'd look so much better with shoulder pads.

I was very like my pony (Chestnut mare 5 year old) when I got her many years ago. Highly strung energetic teenager who loved to do fun things.

Then I got my first horse (coloured gelding 4 year old) who I ended up being like too. Cheeky, the odd temper tantram, occasionally lazy, stubborn, loved to get all tarted up and go to shows. I actually think he may of been a person in a horse suit....

Now my loan horse is nothing like me... i hope... (Chestnut gelding 14 year old). Nutter! Total split personality. Calm lazy and boring, beautiful flat work or madness!! Never in a particular order so cannot plan. Usually madness in the ring *hits head*

I'd like to think you end up with a horse you seem to click with. Every horse I've brought, even though they've usually been the most tempermental, we seem to be on the same level most of the time.

I hope not - he's big and brown and smelly and rolls in the mud at any chance! Not unlike my OH - so there may be something in this after all.........

I hope not! He's arrogant, greedy, opinionated and determined to have his own way.

Actually, I do joke that he is like my husband. Daughter and I say that husband is his role model!!

Hmm I guess im some what like my cob , greedy, could eat forever, opionated, grumpy, kiss asses when we want something and atm we both have hariy legs :o (only because im skint and cant buy any razors 'til friday!!!)

Yes! We're both good doers ( :o ) who can be lazy, but when we're in the mood we are whizzy and hyper. Both quite stubborn (if I was a horse I'd definitely nap!), but also both kind and generous (I like to think), and both wusses when it comes to confrontation - when the ears go back and the hooves start flying, me and my horse are both more likely to run away and hide! Oh, and we love jumping even though we're both useless at it. :D

He's not like me in that he wants to be best friends with everyone he meets, whereas I'm a little bit shy, and he has a gorgeous long straight white mane, while I have a frizzy ginger mop!

Err, yes :o :D.

Both strong-willed.
Both flirt like there's no tomorrow (one gelding will now not leave the yard without calling for my mare and trying to nap :o  :o).
Both cheeky and will stand up for ourselves when required.
Quite laid back but get spooked by the odd unplanned surprise.
Both a little bit quirky and 'special' :o :D.

Nope, he is tall dark and handsome and I am ........errr....not.

He is insecure and prone to hissy fits and spitting his dummy out, wheares I am pretty much calmness personified.

I pay the bills and give him everything he needs in life, he uses me and abuses me by whacking me in the face and creating a dimple in my cheek (cute admittedly) and damaging two fingers when I got in between him taking a swipe at a particularly annoying mare.

Essentially we are like any other male / female relationship :D

Tall....ginger..... sturdy..... opinionated....stroppy.......bossy......talented........handsome........tries hard in every situation......doesn't get flapped when things don't go right ......friendly.......loses shoes........
Could describe either of us apart from the talented, handsome and ginger bit (Although I do have very fair skin so maybe just a recessive gene?)
And yes I do lose shoes (I have lots of single ones don't even ask how cos I don't know!)
