Is it just me or are some of you just not bothering to view NL (or any of the others come to think of it) as much since the forum change? :(

Then again if your like me, you probably won't even get to read this post because it will of been and gone before yo know it or you won't even be on the forum to see it.

I've even taken to browsing horsmart and ebay now because I'm just not clicking with this new forum, I like the added perks but it all seems a wee bit drab at the moment.

Seems to have lost its zest/spark which other forums lacked in, but HHO was always a lively place, seems to have gone a little numb.

In fact come to think of it, I'm actually spending less time on here and actually doing some work :(:D

I like the new set up better and I am still browsing but the forum seems to have been a bit quiet for a month or so now. No interesting posts really......

I'm not :( I just can't be arsed! With the old forum, I would refresh every so often and see new posts whereas now, they have gone before i have a chance to see them!

It sucks :( I'm gonna actually have to do work now!

I must admit I am finding I am not delving past page one really and I'm finding some of the posts really dull as they disappear so quick very few people answer them so you find a post that interests you but no answers which doesn't help any debates or anyone wanting advice.

Must admit I cant be bothered as much, posts disappear as you say and cant keep up with them as much. Still havent worked out where the "index" key is and keep having to use the back button. Annoying so if anyone can tell me where it is that will stop winding me up too. Im not a computer buff and have no patience when it comes to e stuff.

I've hardly been on here at all recently, I find it is spoilt because the posts disappear of the first page so quickly :( it's a shame as I really used to enjoy the posts on here, I just find it difficult to track the ones that are of interest. We'll have to try and liven things up :D

Nope, don't like it at all.

All the new posts are gone so quick it's hardly worth looking in now, every time I do it's the same old posts on page 1.

I was going to post something earlier then thought, what's the point - it will dissappear so fast it's hardly worth the effort to type it!

been browsing other forums instead. Sorry Admin - not good :(

I am in two minds about it, very aware that posts will probably drop off the face of the earth in no time at all but also I have to admit I quite like it in so far as popular threads, which I confess I am often more interested in, tend to stay at the top so I can follow their progress. I think I browse as often, if not more, although I do think with the type of forum it is - advice etc - its perhaps not the best thing.

Perhaps the forums should be categorized by 'type' of post rather than topic - i.e. topics like 'unusual names', polls or opinion threads likely to have a large number of replies are in one area and general advice things in another. That would probably just overcomplicate life though!

I was a lurker before I joined so although I am new I have been reading for a while and I think it has been really quiet on here too.

Think we need a few new trolls to get everyone back and posting again :)

I think now threads get bumped when you post they stick around longer and more people have a chance of seeing them...... it used to be that if you posted at a quiet time of day then your post would disappear very quickly. I think once everyone is used to how it works they will like it and the way we post will become more suited to the way the forum works.

I use moneysavingexpert forum too and that uses vbulletin and works very well, they tend to have bigger threads (hundreds of pages sometimes) that are added to rather than lots of shorter ones, it keeps it interesting that way and you can read someone's whole story in one place.

no, not browsing HHO as much since the migration.. i can't be @rsed sorting the page by 'thread start time' rather than by 'last post time' each time i change from CR to NL etc..
i also think there needs to be more threads per page, and i liked the 'show all' option from the old forum so i could read the whole thread on one page, even if it was 7 pages long. meh...

Hmm I'm in 2 minds really.

I like the new layout, but I just get bored now *Gasp* - Never thought I'd be saying that!!

But maybe its because I am actually having to knuckle down and work these next few months..

Nope. Too slow (although I've changed to Firefox which is proving quicker than on OE). Too big. Too harsh. And hate the way the threads move around :(

There are things that I do like, but it's proving hard work. I'm actually doing some work and socialising instead :cool::p:D

No. It's slower. How I used to work it was open NL, then open in a new tab all the new posts starting with the newest that I was interested in, then when I got to the bottom of NL Page 1 I'd go to page 2, then open and read all the tabbed posts I'd opened, then when I got back to the NL page 2 was fully loaded, I'd open my new tabs and so on until I got to a post I'd read before, then I'd only pick out the read before posts I wanted to know 'what happened'. Meant I read all the posts quickly.
Can't be bothered now, so am hardly on here. Not quite sure what I'm doing instead but have been working on a blog for work.

Def not browsing as much. Dont like that i cant see new threads as they appear etc. Its also quite slow to load post etc. Ive been browsin horse mart, ebay and facebook and horsegossip alot more! Such a shame......

Definately not on HHO much now. I hate the way you are unable to keep the threads static and also still having massive problems with loading times and timing out.:(

I really dont likr the new forum, only come on here to ask questions now rather then answer any, maybe we could get them t change it back :D

I'm afraid I've got bored too. I've not been on for a couple of days, and the way the posts jump about is annoying. I used to come on once a day and read through all the new posts which i was interested in methodically, but can't seem to do that anymore.

The lovely weather this week has also been a factor - I'd rather be out with the neddies than be on the forum. :)

it does annoy me the way you don't seem able to set it to sort the posts by thread start time as default and have to select the option each time you go to a different sub forum

I'm always willing to give change a go but tbh the way new posts come in is a pain in the bum and the whole forum is now so brain-numbingly SLOW!!!!!! I think H&H have made a fundamental mistake by forging ahead with a massively changed system WITHOUT running it by a Users' Group. A Users' Group would have worked with the proposed new system for eg a week or so and would have immediately reported any glitches and problems that could then be addressed before going live. Standard industry stuff - run test data through and watch for leaks and cracks. H&H missed this essential step out. HTG it now takes me about 2 mins just to click on a post, realise I'm not that interested in it and get back to the previous list. Before, it took a second. A 600% increase in response times in a brand "new" system isn't my idea of progress!!!! And god help if you want to add a reply! That's another 2 mins because (as far as I can work out) the only way back to where you were if you add a reply to a thread is to click on Forum Jump and scroll through to the Forum you want and then click on that. Each click takes a minute or so and it's all so paralisingly SLOW and TEDIOUS that it puts me off using what I always regarded as an immensely valuable resource.

Is there no way to increase the number of viewable post titles per page?

If there isn't, then that's utterly ridiculous.:mad::mad:

I agree with everyone else, a newly posted post simply disappears. I posted one yesterday morning. Logged on again in the afternoon and couldn't find my post no matter how hard I looked. I ended up having to run a "search" to find it again! Not surprisingly no one had answered it, either. Mind you, that could simply be down to it being a boring question! Still, what a pain in the ar@e and a waste of my time trying to re-find it.

I do hope things pick up a bit. Tis rather boring ATM. :(

I am spending much less time on here aswell. I liked to see the new posts but now can't be bothered scanning through to see which are new or not. Also, previously after viewing a thread, if I went back into it after new postings, I was automatically taken to the point I last viewed, now it goes back to the beginning of the thread and I have to work all the way through it again which is annoying and time consuming.
There might be a way to fix that, if anyone knows......
