ARE YOU RUGGING AT NIGHT YET?

Grace has a fleece on at night as it has been 6-7 degrees here the past few nights and she feels the cold quite easily as all her hairs stand on end in the morning if she has been cold through the night. But she is a very fine haired, thin skinned WBxTB in full work.

I go by the weather to be honest rather than what time of year it is, especially this year!

my warmblood has been the only horse at our yard (out of 20) not to have seen a rug since the start of the summer, and she's lived out for the last 3 months (just started to come in at night). Everyone rugged, even natives, if it rained, or was forecast to rain - I was quite surprised.
I work on the basis if i'm OK in a t-shirt, she's probably alright too.

Mine is out at night still and does have a light weight turnout rug on, but this literally a light weight waterproof sheet with no filling.
I admit to rugging him up early every year as he's impossible to clip so i rug him to stop too much of a winter coat coming through.

Mine's a Sec D x thoro and I'm not rugging him up yet, although some others at my yard are. The horses are in an American Barn at night and although I'd probably find it chilly I don't want to make him too warm as that's worse than too cold.

It's a difficult decision at the moment, but I'm thinking it's better to be a bit cold than too hot. Also, I understand it's the shorter amount of daylight that makes the winter coat come in as opposed to the actual temp.
