Just wondering if anyone has sold any youngsters (unbroken 3 year olds ideally) recently? Had my youngster advertised and although lots of lovely comments not had any serious buyers/enquries so far :( Should I give it up over winter and just turn him out then try again in spring?

I think youngstock generally doesn't shift quickly but I also feel a lot of stuff is over priced and that's a big factor also.

I'm actually quietly looking out for a 3 yr old unbroken youngster, also a friend of mine is, could you pm me details?

:-)

Just sent you a pm spottytb :D

I have seen several overpriced but I think my boy is mega cheap for what he is! Im gutted to be selling as I got him to produce for endurance but other circumstances mean I have to let him go :( He is a little unusual looking - blue & white with blue eyes but absolutely stunning! Everyone comments how stunning he is but no one wants/can afford another at the mo lol

I think that youngstock is one of the slowest moving areas of the horse market at the moment. :(

/\ /\ This. But also the time of year. Why buy a youngster that you have to feed all winter when you can keep the money and wait till Spring.

Might depend on where abouts you are and how much there selling for. I've recently bought an unbroken 3 year old, but I knew the people, I had known him since he was a foal and hes exactly what I was wanting.

I don't think any youngstock are selling at the moment. I have 3 foals advertised and not really any serious enquiries.

Last year I sold one really easily.

I sold one last month , a 2 yr well bred and papered friesian colt , but only sold for 1500.00 where normally they would go for over 2000
This time is really not good to sell inless you want a quick sale due to winter you won't get your asking
So it's either drop on price or keep I'm afraid
