Are your horses.........

Thanks Mickey! That's really helpful. I've just had similar advice from some chums on the Breeding forum, and I think I will stop paying these daft premiums - especially as he is now massively under-insured even at these silly prices!

I will either cut out the death and LOU, and just insure him for public liability and vets' fees - or keep the death insurance but at a much lower value. I do want to keep him insured for vets' fees, as one never knows what might happen, and even a minor problem can soon run up huge vet bills!

Star is insured for everything including loss of use. I don't cover her tack though. No point as it's covered by my car and house insurance and we don't have a tack room.

Yes I agree about vet insurance. My horse had racked up £5000 worth of fees in scans, tests and treatments during the first 2 yrs I owned him.................!

I would have been desperate without the insurance with PetPlan, who have paid for everything with no issues.

I have never insured a horse until now! And yes, we have once paid the price when one of our ponies cost us a few thousand in vets bills!

Ive chosen to insure one of mine now, because he's worth a bit and it's too worrying! He's insured for vets bills, loss of use and horse.
