Me again. Im on a roll this month.
So I have a lovely areana soon to be leaf free after my last leaf blower ghost buster thread. And now it’s super compact and rock hard with some grass.
So what leveller?? And yea I’m broke now. I’ve looked on eBay and not had any joy as delivery or collection is always miles away and I need to see the thing I suppose. So
I’ve contacted R Nessbit in Co Altrim £180 delivery to Surrey and £1300. It’s has spring tines and a roller. Has anyone bought from them? My surface is orgiginally sand and fibre with added carpet fibre! Thanks for all advice.

£1300 sounds quite expensive. I have one from Arenamate https://arenamate.co.uk/# that cost about £750 - but that was about 6 years ago.
if it has been out of use for a while and is compacted you might need to get someone in with professional equipment to set it up for you before a DIY leveller will cope with it.
bought mine this year in Jan, that is what they are now. Inc delivery.

I’ve got the above Arenamate too, the type 1 with tines. It’s an excellent piece of kit. I must have had mine for 10 years or so now.

You might need a professional in initially depending on how compacted the surface is, but the Arenamate is very capable. Assuming they still do this, they bring one out and demonstrate it to you on your arena with no obligation to buy.

Thanks! Ill had it all relaid and re levelled and carpet added in July but was much drier. The bloke that’s selling the £1300 one has sent me a video of his one doing an arena more compact then mine and he said that the S tines would be more for gallops as deeper. I’m feeling sold too. And it has to be wider then tractor so 1.9m min…..help

On a different note, does anyone know of a company who do and deliver top up bags, looking to add more rubber in 2024 (Bucks)
Not rubber but Equine Surfacing Ltd are experts and really good price, I don’t know enough but might be worth a call. Simon 07494740403 (I’m Sasha if he asks who passed number)

I spoke to Adrian at Arena mate and he said I need type 3 for my surface and 2.1m for tractor as it’s wider then a kubota so £2884 delivered. GULP Equine surfaces Ltd who did my refurb said that £1300 machine I was looking at is too light for my surface so he’s making me one like the one he used to do it originally, happy days

There are a load of graders on ebay priced from £150 to over £4500, it's up to you to decide how much you want to spend

I have just seen a grader for sale on Marketplace by someone I know, for sale for £500

That looks like an Arenamate type 1 with tines, like I have. It is suitable for sand and rubber surfaces, not fibre.

Excellent levellers, but apparently not suitable for the OP’s surface.

They are all unsuitable for my surface. But thank you.

Spirit7 - did you go with arena mate in the end? I’m looking at a type 3 for my sand and fibre arena and just wondering how you got on with it?

Nope I had one made by the man who originally bought my arena back to life and added more fibre to it. His name is Simon from www.equinesurfacingltd.com if you look on his link under latest reviews you can see (under Sasha) my arena before and after and he sold me the leveller he did that with. Since last year I’ve not used it much due to having a youngster who’s rested over winter and I used the same leveller to bring it back from field status again in about 45 mins of harrowing. Can’t recommend him enough. My leveller does not have S tines they are just L shaped. Action shots last week attached !! 1964 Tractor lovingly restored by husband !
