Aren't these adorable?

Bad photo and a bit of a gangly age but cute 🥰
Also wouldn’t wanna try keep them clean

Is being broken to drive at 2 less bad than being started under saddle at 2? Does it impact their bodies differently?

They dont have weight on their back, so not as bad. But its not normal for driving. These sound like they have had a poor start so you're probably storing up all sorts of issues for the future. Hopefully someone buys them and gives them a nice home. I'm sure they are very sweet just a typical badly bred, badly started and no doubt badly put together pair.

But its not normal for driving.

Well that depends on what community of drivers you're talking about. It's normal with Travellers, Romanies and harness racers and that's probably the majority of drivers in the UK.

I was trying to avoid bringing anything to do with travellers into it, they also break to ride at 2 which wouldn't be considered normal either. What I should have said is its not normal with good ethical drivers.

It always makes me chuckle that the sort of people that drive foals are quite firm about other things. Someone I know would never drive his horse on a road without shoes, not even for a short time, because it's cruel apparently. Yet they think nothing of hammering a one or two year old up a road as fast as its legs will go. 🙄. It's the same sort of mentality that thinks it's ok to drive at 2, but not to put a lightweight rider on its back. Personally, I don't think either is ok.
