I asked on here a little while ago about the value of my NF pony that I have up for sale. I have advertised her in several places, and only had a few calls and one trial, none of which led to anything.

I am loathed to lower the price, as she really is worth what I am asking, and eveyrone I speak to says they would pay more for a pony like her if they were looking for one - but of course, none of them are.

I want a quick sale, but I also want to know she has gone to a good home. I don't want to sell her too cheaply as I don't want her to just end up anywhere.

So, can I once again have some opinions on a price - should I drop it... I do not really want to pay out for lots more adverts, I was thinking of putting her on the PC website, but does anything really sell on there?

Anyway, she is a 12.2hh 8yo fully registered and branded NF pony, would show at county level easily. Done all PC activities, hunted on and off leadrein. Unflappable in traffic - seen everything from lorries to trains! For sale with all her tack -

Definitely try the PC website, I know lots of people who have sold through there.

For some reason I can't see your photo.

I wish i could help, but unfortunatly the bottom has droped out at this end of the market, I went to an auction yesterday and not much was selling, and what was, was very cheep, and very nice pony's. One was a palamino, devon county winner, should have been £5000 worth of pony, sold for about £900 in the end. Even the dealers are having a hard time, dont hold out much hope for private sales, Try local tack/feed shops, drop your price and go and vet new home, even if you have to say no.

Zoe, if you remember seeing our little grey 11.2hh pony we had advertised, well we've decided to keep him. Every time someone came to try him, we were dismayed at the state of the kids riding, so decided he is staying here for ever but we needed a rider as he loves being worked. So, we advertised for kids to come and ride him and the parents are happy to pay each time with a lesson included. We've got two kiddies (8 year and 5 year old sisters riding him now). We've said we'll teach them everything we can including how to lunge, etc etc. The parents are happy to sign a total disclaimer in case of any accidents. We've only charging a minimal amount (less than the price of one riding school lesson), but the parents seem more than happy to pay even more if we asked. All we wanted was to see the pony here, with us still in charge of him. Think about it and see whether you could get your money in on the pony this way, unless you really need to "out" it. You never know, if you get a kid who falls in love with it, the parents might end up buying it anyway. This way, at least you have total control over who is riding and caring for it.
