ARGH!! Lorry shopping is a nightmare.

Ive been looking to buy a lorry for a couple of weeks now, and whilst i didnt expect to find something i liked straight away i am really disappointed with the ones i have been to see. Most have not been as described!! One was so bad i realy had to wonder what planet these people are on. Its not that we dont have a decent budget either (around 14k!) so why cant i find anything?!

Does anyone have any ideas on where to look? Ive tried the usual places - horsemart, horsequest, horse deals and horse and hound.

Ive found one, will have to give them a call today. Although they dont have much on their website i guess they might have others that arent on there.

Im not sure about buying from a dealer, you seem to get more for your money from a private sale, but then...i guess you have more come back with a dealer.
 
We have just sold a beautiful lorry for £14k - advertised on Horsequest and Horsemart and only in mid lincolnshire- I think you may have missed out!
 
It is worth having a peek on ebay - you can normally contact sellers and go and have a good look round the lorry prior to putting in a bid.

Also, don't be afraid to travel a bit - we flew from Stanstead to Scotland to see our lorry, but it was definately worth it - cost us £40 for return flights, but we decided there and then to buy lorry, and drove it home. It saved us a lot of money, as the same lorry in the south would have cost us about 5k more!
 
Mind you these days it would probably cost 5K in diesel to drive from scotland.

Try lorry builders websites you often find part ex lorries on there.

We got a good deal through Oakley last year and were able to negotiate on the price.
 
well, my old one is at Solitaire now, it's on their website. it's lovely to drive, just had new ramp, just had floor checked, and all living stuff checked over. only thing is, it's a J reg cargo so parts will get a bit harder to find, and it's a bit rusty around the cab area.
