A local gypsy camp has been set up recently up on a school playing field near my yard, they have stayed longer than their permitted time and have caused lots of mess on the field, got a text this morning, saying "dont go near rowennas stable because there is an abandoned horse, was found in her field (shared with 3 other mares)" so i ring my mum (rowenna is her horse) and ask whats happened. at this point she didnt really know, just that we shouldnt approach the horse in her stable, so i get down there, this horse is nowhere to be seen (im nosy so went 2 have a gander in the stable ^^) so get talking to Y/O apparently the "owners" turned up and said "the horse had had its teather cut, got through 2 gates (one at top of drive) then one into field, which it miraculessly shut after itsself. then apparently the owner just lead it up the road back to the camp (or so we think). (Before all this happened) NOW the twist, as my brother was coming down with the clan off to the show in the wagon this morning, he saw rowenna booting the hell out of this horse thats in her field, goes to tell Y/O and she sends donna up to catch it, brings it back into the yard and puts it in rowennas stable, turns out its a 2 YEAR OLD STALLION which was in a field with 3 mares! ARGH! so the vet is coming out to check them all for signs of things i may get banned for discussing ^^. when the Y/O starts asking for details so she can recover the costs of feed and w/e the man starts bawling and carrying on "i know my rights" blah blah! some people eh? i cant understand why he would have done this!!!

Any suggestions as to why such an idiotic man would KNOW WHERE HIS HORSE HAD "RUN OFF" TO? lol

Many Thanks For Reading

Stephen.

this happened to a friend of mine near Barnsley too. A couple of horses appeared in her field and when she asked them to be removed she was threatened. She was really intimidated and as the field was her winter grazing and not in use she just waited it out till they moved on again.

yeah, and its really unfair, we wont be able to claim on insurance for the vets fee's because let me guess, they probably wont give us their details :P its not great tbh, think yard security needs to be upped.
