Its August.

No rain.

No wind.

And yet, I've just turned up to do our horses for the evening and a tree about 30ft tall has collapsed into our field, smashing all of the post and rail on one side. By the sheer grace of god it didn't land on the horse in that field and Frankie didn't decide to go for a wander out of his field.

Thankfully its the council's tree so they'll pay to fix it BUT I've still had to persuade a friend to come out and put all the fencing in tomorrow! xxxxx

No, I still don't understand why as the tree is totally fine and not at all rotten, even the bit where its snapped!!! Maybe it just got too heavy. GRRRRR!

A huge tree branch (more like half the tree!) had come down where I walk the dog the other day, no discernable reason I could see!:(

I picked loads of free firewood though so not a dead loss:D

Glad the horses are ok, and deffo get the fence fixed asap, never know how long the council will take (may be worth keeping any recipets tho to see if they'll refund you)

One of the tree's halfway down our track came down the other week (luckily not on to the track) It had a huge branch that must have been weighing it down for sometime and it finally hit the point of no return. It didn't just snap it was completely up-rooted.

The YM was having a smoke at the time, with a couple of other liveries and said it was really weird as they heard it creaking and wandered over just as the whole thing went crashing down.
