I have my mare up for sale (grey in my sig) and have had 2 people interested. One rang up, sounded interested then never rang back, the other arranged to see her tomorrow but has found another horse. Will I ever sell her?

Maybe her advert isn't good enough...

Sorry for the pointless post!

Give it time. It tooks us quite a while to sell Prince, we had lots of people phoning and only one person came to see him (his new owners)

Where else is she advertised as some websites get much more views than others.
If there was a spare stable at the yard I'd have her, she looks very sweet!

I think hes lovely... just give it time!

My last pony took forever to sell.. well we sold him 3 times but i then decided i didn't like them, or he failed the vet or something and then when i did sell him he has gone to the best home ever... it just takes time.

hi, nice horse, price is prob about right.

she was the kind of thing i was looking for about 6 months ago, however i would have never looked on the webiste you have her advertised, in fact i've never really heard of it. maybe she'd be better on horsemart, horse quest, hh etc??

I agree that you should try different websites. I also think that she is overpriced as she cribs. That does put people off however nice the horse is (She does look lovely)

I am in the same position with ours, had 2 hour long conversations with people who were "really" interested then never got in touch again. I am finding it so hard as I really don't want to sell her and the longer it drags on the more it hurts.

Oh shes lovely, a little like my late Vay. I'd buy her but it would prob break my heart every time I looked at her!

Horsequest is usually good. Good luck, looks like she deserves a nice home

i maybe because you want 5.5k for her and are advertising her on a free site. people who are looking to spend that sort of money usually look on horsemart, H+H, horse quest and horse deals.

she looks nice and i am sure you will sell her.

Agree try advertising on somewhere like Horsemart to get more interest. People will probably be put off by the fact she cribs and with the current market i'm not sure you'll get the full amount for her. She looks lovely though. Just the sort i'd be looking for if I was after another!

sadly I do think that you are asking about £2K too much for her.......she is an ex racehorse (which personally I love - but many do not) and she cribs! When I asked the forum this Spring - what was my lovely sane and sensible 7 year old TB wind sucker worth (who also would be capable of BE and beyond) they (about 10 responses said between £1K and £1.5K) I eventually offered him for £2K and had people loads of really nice interested people - he has gone to a great home in the North - and is still racing (P2P) but also hunting, herdng cattle - real fun horse.

But in defense m'lord... this mare does have a proven competition record.. which puts the price up.

If the cribbing is managed by say, a collar or something perhaps thats worth putting up - and agreed, better website for people who have a little more to spend. I might not mention the fact that she is an ex race horse because everyone automatically assumes you bought her for very little money and is then making heaps (which you might be in which case, fair play to you!)

I paid a fair amount for her two years ago! Her cribbing can be controlled by a collar, however I choose not to use it. She is 100% safe and would make a great pony club/riding club allrounder, however my instructor (BE accredited coach) believes that she will go far in eventing and could maybe be aimed at ROR Eventing classes. So i'm kind of stuck choosing which buyer to aim her at.

TBH, I think you're asking about 1-1.5K too much. For that money you could probably get a horse thats done more competitions and has a good intro BE record or money on its card BSJA, or BD points.

My horse is a few years older (rising ten) has been double clear two intros, double clear at the BRC horse trials champs, has about £175 BSJA through very few outings, doesn't crib snaffle mouthed etc, and if I was selling him, I'd prob ask for about 5-6k.

You may find someone to pay that price, but I think if you're looking to sell quicker, that might be where you have to change something
