I bought a bag of this from my local feed merchants this morning- just under £11 for a large sack (not sure if it's 20kg) They suggested this when I asked for Micronised Linseed.
I've rang Argo and asked if it is micronised, it is, so I'm posting to ask if anyone feeds this particular brand of Linseed? And also to maybe give someone a heads up as to the price, as I was expecting to spend about £30 on a bag of micronised linseed.

When I've opened the sack there are little rectangular pellets in, similar to Fibre-beet, and when I soaked a cup full in 2 cups of boiling water they've just softened into a mash, and haven't swollen. Just want to double check that it sounds right before I start my horses on it, I'm feeding for weight gain for the TB and for both horses feet, as they're barefoot. I was thinking slowly introducing until the TB has 2 cups a day and the native 1 cup.
TIA

Sadly you have been had, this is the left over product after all the goodness has been taken out. Its not nearly as beneficial as the micronised

A bag of Charnwoods micronized linseed is about £22.

Why did you add boiling water?

it does sound like you have possible got empty husks?

I added boiling water just to see if the pellets swelled. It's been ages since I last fed linseed, when I used to boil it- hence adding water as I used to soak before simmering.
Thankyou for that, I'll order some from Charnwood tonight.
