After we left the farm yesterday Ari jumped the fence into the field next door to be with the Three Fat Horses, great fun all running around but then Byron (aka The Tank) decided he didn't like handsome new interloper playing with his herd and went on the attack
Ari showed him a clean pair of heels but Byron got close enough for Ari to lash out him, landing on Byron's pastern. Cue blood, vets, stitching etc!!!!
I was sooooo embarassed this morning, but our friend said no real damage (stitches????) and it was Byron's fault for being aggressive. He also said that Ari running was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen ! Apparently, he was trotting across the field all tail in the air, head up and Juan said, 'he was floating, just floating - I have never seen a horse have all four feet off the ground when trotting before, he was suspensido' (suspended).
So, we now know he can free jump at least 1.20m and perhaps I should take up dressage instead of endurance!!
